Hey everyone, I’ve found a full set of used clubs for sale and would like to know if someone can give me their thoughts to whether or not it’s worth it. The set is going for $750CAD OBO and includes:

OGIO shredder stand bag
Titleist 910d2 9.5 stiff driver
Taylormade rbz 3 wood stiff
Titleist 913hd 20 degree 3 hybrid stiff
4-aw Nike victory red cavity back irons
Cleveland cg12 56,60 wedges
Mazel milled face putter with oversized grip
all clubs have new mid size corded grips

I’ve been putting thought into getting a complete beginner set from the local shop or finding a used set of a better quality set and since i know little of the sport yet, would like some advice. Any help would be greatly appreciated. :)

Too much IMO. Those irons were not worth that much to begin with and at least 4-5 years old. I think you can build a better set for cheaper

That is a lot of money for some pretty old clubs. I would start with something cheap and upgrade slowly over time. Good luck!!

Do you have any photos that you could share? What condition are the faces in? Any sky marks on the woods? What shape is the bag?

Without any more info, I'd say it's an okay price if you bought each individually, if maybe a little high buying the whole set - and assuming they're in good shape.

I'm think thats a tad much, but i admit to not knowing the exchange rate. Also since those irons have more than a couple years, the grips may be need to be replaced, as they may have a slick feel. Also if you are a newer golfer, make sure the Stiff flex is right for you.

Thanks for all the feedback. The irons seem to be in great condition but unfortunately there are no face pictures. All grips are new. I’ll attach some photos they posted to give you a better idea of what the condition is

Welcome!!
That’s a hard no. Not worth it IMHO. Ebay has much better deals. If youre just starting out and want a full set try Amazon. Cobra, Wilson ect make starter full sets. Callaways Strata set is solid.
Used look on Ebay. 2nd Swing. People will buy these sets, lose interest and sell them almost new.
Dont spend a ton of money. Save that extra money and spend it on lessons. Figure out your game and then invest in a fitting and a better quality set after you learn the game. In the long run it will actually save you money and vastly improve your enjoyment of the game.
Good luck!

Thanks for the advice! Yeah it seems like people selling locally try to get MSRP on 10 year old gear haha. I’ll check out Ebay and if not, maybe a starter set new. Hear much on the Wilson profile SGI?

Definitely over priced. You can find deals on offer up if you’re willing to hunt but it can take a long time to find something good. It never hurts to put out an offer too at a price you think is fair, the worst they can do is say no. If you ever want to price clubs check out pga value guide, they give the average resale price on eBay. For local sale you should be below the low end and it should go down further if buying multiple clubs.

You could also try posting in the marketplace here with a WTB post with your budget and what you’re looking for. Lots of great gear for sale here.

It seems a bit expensive.

That seems overpriced to me, considering the age of those clubs. I think you could get a lot bigger bang for your buck that that.

^ Great suggestion. There are a lot of guys here with big, generous hearts and nice sets they’ve moved on from. I’d bet money that you could find a much better deal here with a WTB post in the Marketplace forum.

Youtube is definitely your go to spots for reviews. If not Amazon reviews. Look up Rick Shields on YouTube and go from there. He actually does a full on course review with the Callaway starter set. 800 bucks.
