Morning,

My company just launched their new website today and we want to send out an email blast embedding the iOS icon you can create when you send a bookmark to your home screen.

Would it be as simple as saving that favicon and just attaching the link to it?

Also should mention we would want the person opening the email to be able to save that favicon to their iOS device....thinking drag and drop or bookmark?

To save the page as a website shortcut to the home screen in iOS requires a deliberate action on the part of the end user. Take a look at this article it covers the basics on the code that will need to be on your website so that the proper image is used for the icon as well as some tips on prompting your uses to take that action (since not all iOS users know they can do this).

Thanks man. Ya i was testing my warehouse users and NONE of them knew about the add to the home screen option on their phones....craziness. Appreciate the help.
