I noticed a while ago that when I swing the club back, my shoulders lift up, putting tension in them. This makes it harder to keep my arms relaxed, and then my hands, and good luck with the clubhead. So I have been practicing to keep my shoulders as relaxed throughout the swing as they are at address. My ball-striking is better and more consistent.

I had a helluva time with unconsciously hunching my shoulders at various points during my swing. My instructor kept at me until I Stopped Doing That.

Found, by way of the SeeMore putting mirror, I'd been doing something similar with my lead shoulder while putting. I still have to consciously relax that shoulder.

I have that issue when it is cold! Shoulders are up around my ears! I have to force myself to relax them.
