Sad to say that I read eight-time Ryder Cup player and legendary BBC commentator Peter Alliss has passed away at the age of 89. 1931-2020, RIP

He was a true gent, a great golfer and the best golf commentator ever. Not just his way with words, elocution, and the golf knowledge he imparted. He never let his words get in the way of the game. Sadly unlike most of the ones now that can't stop blathering non-stop "color commentary" etc.
