The people at Scratch Golf Clubs will remember 2008 as a banner year. The company garnered their first professional victories on the Nationwide Tour at the Bank of America Open and the Nationwide Tour Players Cup, as well as multiple top-10 finishes on the PGA TOUR. To celebrate their achievements, the company is reducing the price of their award-winning JLM wedges by $50 a club and is announcing a partnership with the V Foundation for Cancer Research.

"This month will bring to a close our best year ever at Scratch. To date, we've experienced an 85 percent increase in sales while our operating expenses have decreased five percent," said Chad Techner, chairman and COO of Scratch. "Instead of giving CEO bonuses with our surplus, we are going to help bailout our customers' short game."

The MSRP of all Scratch JLM wedges will now be $149, down from $199. The price drop will not affect the quality that customers have come to expect from Scratch. All Scratch JLM wedges will still be forged in Japan from 1018 steel, the softest in the industry.

Also, Scratch has agreed to give 10 percent of all sales from their Web site, www.scratchgolf.com, to the V Foundation. The partnership with the V Foundation allows the company to give to a cause they are passionate about. In addition to their V Foundation partnership, the company gives a percentage of their sales from their LDG women's line of clubs to breast cancer research.

Wow, that's not something you see everyday. Congrats to Scratch on their year and for giving back to their customers.

ya its cool to see companies give back to customers, and then donate money to awesome foundations like that
