Going to Orlando next week and playing at Disney Magnolia and Osprey Ridge. Even though the carts have GPS on them, I decided to make my own yardage books cuz I'm a nerd and also so I have something to look at on the flight down. Here's the links to the yardage books. Any comments or suggestions? The orange line is my average driving distance, red line is my wife's average driving distance.

Good idea. These look pretty cool. Out of curiosity, how did you calculate the distances? I may give this a go next time I play a new course.

Awesome work man

I used GIS software but it probably could be done in Google Earth. The 50/100/150/200 yard markers, I just buffered out each distance from a centerpoint on the green. The Average Drive lines, I buffered out from the tee boxes. All the other distances, I just drew in a straight line and the software calculates the distance.

We'll see if these actually help me out on the course!

Very nice! I use to more less do the same thing. I would print Google earth images and put them in a pocket notebook and add all kinds of stuff while on the course. I pretty much scraped mine now with having a GPS unit. GPS makes it much easier.

Very cool. I'll have to mess around with this some myself. Not just for new courses either. Some of the courses I play aren't the most well-marked. Having a little pocket reference for them couldn't hurt! I could see breaking this down to 4 holes per page and cutting/folding to make it literally pocket size... Thanks for the info.

awesome job!

Make my own for every course I play. Have a GPS but use my books more often. GPS can't tell you that on the par 3 16th its safe to bail to the right side of the green. Guess I'm also a nerd like you and like doing this stuff in my free time. http://www.yardage-marker.com/ has very nice blank ones for cheap.

Very Cool looking. I just don't have that much time on my hand. Guess I'll stick with the GPS on the carts.

Very nice.. Since I don't have that much time i will stick to my skycaddie!

Nice work! I played Osprey Ridge last month, the mosquitoes on the back 9 were the size of small children! We got to see 10+ deer near the fairways & tee boxes. Very nice course.

That's a job well done buddy. It's pretty cool, I should make one for my home course.

I see this is a pretty old thread, I was wondering if you still have the magnolia course. Going to play there later this year. The link here says it's trashed.

Golfed here last February....got randomly chosen for some sort of vehicle search @ the entrance. Made us pull over and get out of the truck while a couple of military guys did their deed. Welcome to the happiest place on earth!

they have metal detectors and bag checks at the park entrances too. makes sense, but it's still sad.
