I totally get that, but an upgrade to a higher tier model for no added cost is pretty darn good customer service, no?It's a fine offer, but having read reviews and knowing my preferences I'd rather have another v5

Shot scope’s CS has completely blown others (garmin) out of the water in my experience.I totally get that, but an upgrade to a higher tier model for no added cost is pretty darn good customer service, no?
Same, without fail.Shot scope’s CS has completely blown others (garmin) out of the water in my experience.
For this fact alone, if they would ever come out with an all in one smart watch similar to the S70 then I would break the tent out and camp wherever to get one.Same, without fail.
Absolutely. i made the choice to wait that's on meI totally get that, but an upgrade to a higher tier model for no added cost is pretty darn good customer service, no?
So definitely nooooooooot less than ideal? HahaAbsolutely. i made the choice to wait that's on me
It's still less than ideal if ideal is them having v5s in stock to replace mine. Fair =/= ideal necessarily. So definitely nooooooooot less than ideal? Haha
But NOT a reflection on their customer service, they went above and beyond with the offer to upgrade it seems to meIt's still less than ideal if ideal is them having v5s in stock to replace mine. Fair =/= ideal necessarily.
CorrectBut NOT a reflection on their customer service, they went above and beyond with the offer to upgrade it seems to me
I'd say ideal would be the product actually working. It's still less than ideal if ideal is them having v5s in stock to replace mine. Fair =/= ideal necessarily.
Wait, how are they sending me a V5 if they're out?Correct
Apparently they are getting another shipment in September. Unsure if they send out refurbs or what, but that's what I have been told.Wait, how are they sending me a V5 if they're out?
Sorry this was missed. Yes the v5 uses buttons, the x5 is a touchscreen watch. Some prefer the buttons, others prefer the touchscreen. I've used both and both have worked well for me, in a perfect world the touchscreen would be slightly more responsive than it is but a great device nonetheless. The only difference between the x5 and v5 is x5 is touchscreen correct?
Well, here's the answer. Not sure what I'll do as I have less than zero desire to give the X5 another go.Apparently they are getting another shipment in September. Unsure if they send out refurbs or what, but that's what I have been told.
No it does not. You sync at the end of the round, and then usually do a minor edit either on the mobile app or the desktop to clean up putt locations, penalties or missed shots (usually as a result of taking two shots very close to each other - like a failed bunker shot).Ok. Using this guy for the first time. I’m confused with it, does it not sync with the mobile app real time to show how far I hit my last shot and keep track within the app?
Wild battery behavior the last few rounds. Fully charge prior to hitting course, all 3 rounds were 4 hrs give or take 5-10 minutes from when i turned it on. GPS only no score tracking. Battery % after round 1 was 37%, round 2 62%, round 3 31%.
I think there are tons of people that would be surprised to learn what their actual average driving distance isThis has been a great experience with Shotscope. I said prior to going this was the event i really wanted to go to. While some things have confirmed what i thought.....it's also been interesting to learn other things
1) I don't drive the ball nearly as good as i thought. My performance average with driver is like 265 and i miss 50% of my fairways. It is hard to play tournament golf hitting to greens that run 12, out of the rough, when you are already the shortest guy in the group. I don't lose balls (nice), but i am also rarely in position A. I am the master of being 10 feet off the fairway
2) My iron play, as i suspected, really carries me. 84% of my shots from <200yds either hit the green or land short of the green (my home course the greens tilt back to front). Meaning 8 1/2 times out of 10 i'm either on the green or chipping from the ideal spot. I am very , very good at managing my misses with an iron in hand. On a course with tilted greens, i have only gone long 2% of the time
3) Give me a chip off fairway from just off the green and i'm as good as a PGA Pro
4) I suck out of bunkers.

Oh absolutely agreed - the P-Avg stat especially is nice to knowYes for sure, but it's also important to know even the best players will have holes where they clip a tree branch and the ball goes 170yds. So there are different kinds of "average".
My home course has a par 4 with a super tight chute. I've probably had like 8-10 drives this year there that have gone 200yds or less.
So i like the idea of different "averages"
I usually do too. Once in a while I forget before league but its never died on me. Sat on 6% for 4 holes the one evening. Im sure heat probably affects the performance as well. Still a great product. I trust its accuracy over my rangefinderThat is likely not the battery, it is more likely the components measuring battery life that are being a bit wonky. Not to get too technical but it's challenging to do a 0-100% battery life estimator without using a specific component that tends to add cost.
In general, i charge my watch after every round because GPS is a big battery drain. There's not much you can do about that
