You’d be fine with the 7s. Probably all the way up to a 6 or 7i. But if you’re happy with the 5s and not finding hotspots on them, they’re significantly more forgiving. That said, the 7s are not blades. They have a fair bit of forgiveness.Yesterday's round further cements my happiness in my return to the Srixon iron lineup. I have played the 565s and 785s in the past. The rough is high at my club and it was soaked from all the rain we received over the week. No issues for me with my ZXi5s and the V-Sole, I was able to get through the rough with no issues. I have been extremely happy on how well these irons have performed for me ever since I returned from The Srixon Experience. I am becoming more confident and successful with my iron game. Of course I will have rounds that are subpar but thats due to my mental lapses of not putting a good swing on the club. These irons are just flat out performing for me and look forward to playing some really good golf as the season progresses. I have been playing so well that I am thinking of picking up ZXi7s in the scoring irons. Probably just a pipe dream so I will continue with the ZXi5s without a doubt.
Here is my impact record from a ~20 ball set today, this is 8i. This is about a half dollar sized impact zone and none of these shots were going to put me in any trouble. Most if not all would’ve been GIRs. I wouldn’t have gotten away with those impacts out toward the toe with my 221s.
