That’s a big number. Big acquisitions of major brands like this rarely change anything significant down on the consumer level though, right?

I saw that yesterday evening. Very interesting. They’ve kind of been passed around by private equity and conglomerates for quite a while now. Will be interesting to see who ends up with them.

talk about a company that has spent most of the last decade being for sale

Makes sense, PE is always in it for the return

Five Trillion Won sounds a lot cooler than just $3.5 billion.

I was just thinking has any other OEM been sold more than TM?

I spoke about this to the people at one of our Experiences last week.
This has been going on for a bit, as they get their "books straight" I am told.

Can THP members come up with enough scratch to buy them? 3.5 billion seems like an attainable number. Community owned like the GB Packers of the golf world. Just think of the possibilities 🤣

the only one that comes to mind is Ben Hogan. But part of that is just the number of reboots that sticks in my head.

If we limit @Mmaynard11 to one vacation a year I think he could cover half that number himself

just 1 vacation? How will he survive? Rumor is since reading the OP he's already booked 4 more.

I know Cobra was once independent then part of acushnet, and now I think solo again..

When I was at Sun Day Red they had the PE firm come visit and we heard rumblings they were looking to sell TM. They seem to have gotten their operations and books in order and are trying to cash out it seems.

Crazy that TM bounces around like this. I would love to know the "burn rate" because it seems they hemorrhage or waste more $$ than the other major OEM's

We’d run them into the ground by making all upcharge options stock and lifetime grip changes throughout the duration of owning the club.

I hope Pins and Aces buys them.

I was told it was happening back in January.
Then I was told it was put on hold through early retail.
Then I was told books were being cleaned.
Last week I was told its on and its happening, but may take some time.

I got $50 to go towards this. GoFundMe maybe? :)

After I announced to the forums I was going back to my Mizunos, this is not surprising to see. Hard to come back from that as a company

Acushnet stock has performed very well while Callaway-not so good.
