TaylorMade R7 Quad Mini Driver

I want one just because I played the various versions for years and loved them.

I have really loved my Copper BRNR the last 2 seasons and it took a lot not to purchase the this one. I am fighting it knowing by the time my season starts next year there will be new options to choose from. This one does look so much better than mine though

I mean....

Like I said in the Elyte Mini thread, my alignment right now is ****. Its frustrating.

This is the 13.5 with the heavy BACK still. Maybe tomorrow I will slug them forward.

Also, this is with the 85g PowerCore Blue in it, shocked to see this speed at that weight, as I feel old. hahaha

Well that's fun...

I'm not internet long, so I'm pretty pleased.
Nor am I but I have been very pleased with the length I've seen on course. And I still think this is the easiest one to hit off the deck of all the iterations I've tried. It's a fun club.

Heavy forward saw 2.7 mph more ball speed. 😳

On the cusp of 160 for me, which is big for me at this point.

Does this make me want to try this now? Why yes, yes it does, launched be damned, lol

This, and the Elyte, for me, will definitely make the Cobra earn it when the times comes.

I haven't adjusted the weights yet, as the stock configuration was giving me these pretty little baby draws, but it is tinker season

I still want one of these. Don’t need it, as I hit my regular BRNR mini great, but that hasn’t stopped me before. But, I want different iron shafts worse, and that may win out.

FWIW, I held off on the R7 until a bunch of trade ins because I thought it wouldn't be better than my BRNR.

Its better than my BRNR.

Mini battle!!!!

Got a email from TM this morning announcing they just dropped the R7 mini in a 15.5°. I’m not really sure what the pros of it at a 3w loft would be

Incredibly more forgiving than a 3 wood, since it's twice the size of the average 3 wood.

More forgiving and for the pros who will hit off the tee and deck, prob a better gapping number than the 13.5 or 11.5

Oh I know. I’ve hit the R7 a bunch. I love the adjustability of the four weight system but to convince myself I need it and that it would meaningfully save me strokes over my BRNR is a tougher sell to my brain and wallet.

After wishing for it for the last month, TM came through with the lefty 13.5! I ordered the first day and just received today. Had some points and whatnot and upgraded the shaft to a VF 6S. Living room swings feel great and I like seeing a little more loft. Hope to get it out next week if it stays warm enough in Western Colorado!

I am very close to trading in some things to acquire the new 15.5 degree one.

Been interesting reading 😃 how much distance are you leaving behind when you T'off without your driver 🤔

This thing is close to driver ball speed and distance. I’ve hit it a few times and went way too far.

The 13.5° in lefty is making me wonder if next spring I need to have a shoot out against the elyte TD 3 wood for that spot in the bag. The 11.5° brnr lofted up to 13° was so good off the tee for me before it got taken out of bag. Maybe the 13.5° would actually be good off the deck too?

Watch this space 🚀

I'm watching very closely as I'm thinking about a New Driver 😁 but it's all about "cost rewards" ok I'm in no hurry 🙏
