Once drove from Salt Lake City to State College, PA nonstop in 34 hours..solo.

I could eat at Chipotle 7 days a week although only average 4x.

Have seen Roger Waters perform The Wall 14x, with all seats being in the first 20 rows and often front row.

I have lived in all four CONUS time zones

I was born without saliva ducts, drooled constantly until I had surgery when I was about 3

I can't stand listening to people argue about politics

Fun thread, spent a while reading it.

3 things you didn't know about me:

1. I've had a real live lion at home, here in Finland.
2. I once sold a video camera to Bam Margera.
3. I have eaten 9 cooked eggs without drinking and puking within 60 seconds.

Bonus: I loath people who surprisingly pinch or poke other people.
Bonus2: I'm way too stupid to argue about politics or religion. :)

The story gets less exciting, and much more sad...

Unfortunately he died of sepsis (blood poisoning). There were three cubs born, and sometimes when animals don't know how to take care of their offspring they can hurt them. The lioness killed two of the cubs, and bit the last one on the neck. Leo, as we called him, was brought to us because we had a batch of Irish Wolfhound puppies, and a lactating female dog. Leo the Lion would have stayed with us for the whole summer, but he died after a couple of days. The veterinarians did what they could, but apparently there was nothing to be done. Leo enjoyed his short life due his "stepmother", our dog.

P.S. As you might know, we don't have lions roaming free here, so the unfortunate event with the lioness took place in a zoo.

I've been hit by a shark while surfing and struck by lightning while driving.
When I was in HS my family moved from IL to FL so my brother and I could be a part of the longest winning streak in the history of HS sports (Brandon FL wrestling team that was undefeated from the mid 70's, broke national record set by a volleyball team in 1997, and remained undefeated until just a few years ago)
I played professional disc golf for a few years in my late 20's

Ah how sad man :( so he got a bacterial infection that got in the blood?

Yes, something like that, I was a bit younger then, didn't listen to the details, I HAD A LION! :D

P.S. On a serious note, I was a teenager, my mother raised and still do, Irish Wolfhounds.

I'll be 32 next month. I played DG for about 8 years and only stopped a little over a year ago when we moved and then decided to take golf lessons. Then I found thp and the rest was history. It was a lot of fun as I had two great sponsors and enjoyed playing all over the country. It got to the point where I reached my peak, and to hang with the very best I would have had to quit my job and tour full time, and that wasn't an option.

Crazy thing is December 14 will be ten years of marriage. Last few vacations we've just chuckled as everyone assumes we're on our honeymoon.

ive been surfing all my life and have seen some big ones in the water... luckily no encounters that had touching or biting involved lol

1. I was/am addicted to gambling. It's been a year since I've stepped into a casino. Before I ran $77 into $35,000 and change in Vegas playing craps. Then lost it all in the 3 hours of layover for a flight home.
2. I'm a teacher who is currently jobless; substituting weekly and beginning to really hate kids for how they act for subs.

3. I've got a half sleeve tattoo.

And I'm a huge SciFi fantasy geek.

I surfed between Cocoa Beach and Sebastian Inlet on a regular basis for about 6 years. Saw lots of sharks but never had any trouble. On this day I had just got off my board and was in chest high water, I was getting ready to jump back on and paddle out when I got bumped/rammed in my ribs by a large shark. I immediately gave out a girlish shriek and a couple buddies looked soon enough to get a glimpse of it as well. Not sure of the species but my guess would be a bull shark. I immediately made my way to shore and sat on the beach for a solid thirty minutes before I could get back out there. Thankfully it was just checking me out.

I have no words for the guys that surf in shark water and do it without fear. Don't know whether to high five you or call you stupid.

Well, in a funny turn of events, it just turns out that my me and my son, for his graduation present, are planning on diving with Sharks in the Bahamas! I have to pay, and you did it for free lol! I think that Shark you ran into could have been a lemon shark? Bull Sharks will bite you just for fun lol! Either way, I imagine your blood pressure spiked a wee bit!

hmmm... this is a great thread!

I have a 19 year old son with Asbergers syndrome, combined with social anxiety. He is such a smart kid, but most people will never know. Breaks my heart...I also have a 15 year old son, who really struggles to deal with his brother - really not fair that he actually has to be the "big" brother. On the positive side though, he got hooked on golf this year and is already blowing it by me! Soon, he wil learn how to score and I'll be screwed lol!

When I got re-married, my new wife had a young son & daughter. They are great kids, and they consider me there dad since their father...well, we'll just leave that alone. I am a very lucky man, and was blessed with a second chance to do things right.

I am really good for some reason at carnival games ( this worked well for me with the ladies when I was younger! )- I am unbeaten at Wac-a mole! ( Funny thing was - my ex-wife was damned near as good as me, but she could never quite beat me - probably led to the divorce ha ha! ) And people have actually given me money to win stuff for them at those basketball hoops in places like Kings Dominion, Hershey, etc. Bizarre...

Bigball- That sounds like an amazing trip. One of my best friends has wanted to cage dive with a white shark for years.
I've also done a bunch of wade fishing on the gulf side and was always more afraid of stepping on rays than encountering sharks.

Yes, I am really excited! I learned to dive when I was 15 ( both my uncles are master divers ) and I have dove exactly 1 time since I was certified! It's an expensive hobby - worse than golf!!

Yea, I'd be up for a cage dive with a white shark for sure! I have always wanted to dive on the great barrier reef - one of those bucket list things I guess...

Here are mine.

1. Was swimming in Key West a few years back and swam right through a Man-of war. I never got stung or anything. Still don't know if it was dead or just my lucky day.

2. I have an extreme fear of Moth's.

3. I was in the Marines.

i dont wanna get this great thread too off topic so ill keep it on topic sorta lol

1. my encounter was at a break called hazards san luis obispo, cali and it was most definitely a great white shark
my brother, my best friend and about a dozen other guys were way outside and the surf was big and cold
the lineup cleared and my brother noticed there were only 3 other guys out with a bunch of ppl on the beach waving ppl in... one was my best friend
the waves were still pretty good so we were wondering why everyone was catching waves in party wave style even tiny ones and like a dummy i was clueless
my brother says "maybe we should go in"
thats when i see it about 100-120 yards away... it was unmistakable... the dorsal was massive
luckily a fat set rolled thru and we both took off on a clean one
everyone made it safe to the beach and we could see the "landlord" patrolling the channel... it looked like an upside down sail boat submerged in the water

2. this was the same surf trip the 3 of us sober as hell... saw lights in the sky that i can only describe as unidentified(ufo)

3. ive surfed with literally hundreds of sharks underneath of us at la jolla pier/ la jolla shores on a day when the water was clear as a swimming pool
they were only 3-4ft leopard sharks... whats funny is they are probably there on a daily basis but you cant see them due to way less visibility/water clarity

LOL! That is great! I figured out this year, that if you sit at the horse race one where you have to roll balls into the hole and the horse will move that many spots and you race against others to the finish line....well, you go when no one is ready to play and you win something just by finishing. That way you get the daddy didn't win me anything out the door right away....everything else you now do is gravy!
