My home course is Musgrove Country Club in Jasper AL. its a great old course, I believe the 2nd oldest in the state. The course was redesigned by Jerry Pate in 1992 and has alot of character, the club house was a log cabin that was built in 1924 and still has part of the original log cabin design in the clubhouse.

I am not a member any where (yet hoping this will change soon haha) but i play the following three courses the most...

Acadian Hills
This course i play by far the most. This is where I learned to play the game. My grandfather has been a member here since the 50's. I can remember as a kid i would ride out to the course in the morning and play a round with my grandfather. then he would head home and i would play until i couldn't take it anymore and my grandmother would come back and pick me up haha ahhh the good ole days!

I just joined 12 Oaks Outside Raleigh NC. http://www.12oaksnc.com/golf-overview.html absolutely stunning course, plays 7200 from the tips. Course has a great driving range, chipping greens and putting greens. Their present membership offer is $1000 down and $295 a month. Course was ranked in the top 10 best new courses by Golfdigest in 2009. As a high 90s player this course is extremely challanging with double fairways, significant rough and massive traps, but if I can make it here, i can make it anywhere :D

Not a long golf course but it is a very challenging track. There are very few flat lies in the fairways and even fewer straight putts. The most punishing part of the golf course is the trees and foliage, it is almost impossible to find your ball in the bush and you are lucky if you have a shot out of it. Our Greens Super is one of the best around .... we are very lucky to have a great course to play.

Hey all,

The course I am a member of is Leven Links - proper Scottish links course - www.levengolfingsociety.co.uk. A real test when the wind blows, which is pretty much all the time!!!

I am however returning the parkland course I was a member of years ago called Balbirnie Park - beautiful tree lined setup with quick greens. Not too long at about 6400 off the back tees - a good fun course - www.balbirniegolf.com

I am really enjoying seeing your courses from across the Atlantic - played at Wailae in Hawaii while on honeymoon three years ago and it was awesome!

I play at Bearna Golf Club here in Galway. Its a good, challenging course however its situated on a bog so it gets pretty wet and soft during the winter months. http://www.bearnagolfclub.com/Enter.htm

JT,

River Pines was my home course when I lived in Atlanta as well. I grew up in Atlanta and my wife and I lived in Roswell for 8 years after we were married. Great part of Atlanta. That course is short but can be deceivingly difficult at times, my only gripe was that pace of play can be an issue there from time to time. The range and Par 3 course are excellent.

I agree on everything you said. The Practice area is top quality. The Par 3 is a great practice area to work on wedge shots. The course can be short. For Example, The Par 5 17th is easily reachable in 2 for me. All I take is Driver 5 Iron and Im there. Some holes can be very tricky in terms of elevation changes and random water. Pace of Play has gotten better but it has been getting better.

Im glad I see another guy who used to be in the North Metro Atanta area. I dont know if you agree with me but the way I have to get to RP takes me alongside Country Club of the South (for those unfamiliary with Atlanta, its the best neighborhood in GA. John Smoltz, Tom Glavine, Usher, and Allen Iverson live there). I always felt intimidated going by in my Ford Explorer when I see their Driving Range and they have Range Rovers, Shelbys, and Porsches parked there.

Beaver Creek Country Club in Hagerstown MD

Tapatalk... Loved by me hated by the wife.

Macclesfield, full of hills, Jamie Donaldsons home course, erm, can't say the members are nice or care too much for anybody else. like much of Cheshire they're stuck up and feel above everybody else, which isn't very encouraging for a new golfer. well, thats from my experience as a jr golfer there.

JT, don't feel intimidated. The course went bankrupt a year ago and from what I hear is still under financial pressure!

Black Squirrel Golf Club. Known as one of the toughest public courses in the area because of narrow fairways, lots of OB, and firm greens. I enjoy the course but my switch to one of the local country clubs next year.
