Bronzewood Golf Course. Super nice layout, very mature course maybe not the best paths or upkeep, but it is cheap($ 30 weekend) and close, about 5 miles.

I guess my home course would have to be Hackbarth Hills in Janesvile, WI. Its nothing fancy, just a nice little par 3 course. I play there because it only costs $10 to play 9 holes.
All of the fullsize courses around here get about $15 for 9 holes, so I mostly play par 3 courses because they are inexpensive.
Theres 3 of them in my area. Its fun to play a fullsize course every now and then, but I dont hit my driver all that well anyways; so until I get that club figured out I stick to the par 3s.
At least with the par 3s I can usually make par and every once in a while make birdie. Im pretty good with my short irons, wedges and putter; so on a good day I can really score well on the par 3s.

I guess Beacon Lakes would be my home course I try play once a week but sometimes it is impossible, I also love Bay Forest the greens are typically in a little better shape and usually isn't crowded.

Just became a member of the Mission Viejo COuntry Club, haven't played yet though. Usually I just go up to a local muni. in Palo Verdes called Los Verdes, it's on the cliffs in SoCal, doesn't look like a muni.

Does that place still take 6 hours to get in a round? I havent been there in years.

Depends when you go, go early, avoid the old folk.

In Western Mass there isn't many big courses, alot of them barely push the 6000 mark. I enjoy a small course called "Ledges" it's a beautiful place, the scenery is awesome (especially during change of season), there is a lot of trees so course management is crucial, and the best part is it doesn't put a big dent in your pocket to go out and play a round of golf.

My home course is/was a 9 hole goat track, Pauquette Pines. But the land is for sale & they probably won't reopen this year. That's on because there are dozens & dozens of other/better courses which I also play & all are within 45 minutes of my home.

This is my club. http://www.frilfordheath.co.uk/

I've been a member there for 2 years since I moved to this county.

Last year was the clubs centenary. 3 very different courses and 54 greens to get used to!

Open invitation for anyone ever in the area! :present:

Nice rota of courses, when is the THP Kansas Classic?? With all you midwesterners, we might have to have one.
Sorry I don't know.

I'd love too!! A month or two's notice and I could probably make it happen. Advantage of being a single guy.....

Sounds good, there are a lot of nice public courses around here. I'm sure Smalls would be down for it.

Yep
We have quite a few here in the K.C. area and if this summer starts off like last summer they should all be in great shape. The ones I named are the ones I play.I'm definitely gonna have to check out Swope Memorial,Tiffany Greens and Creekmoore.

Been a long time since I played Dub's Dread. Jug McSpadden ws the pro out there for a long time. I'm related to him by marriage (my dad's sister's husband's brother or cousin or something). I played Hodge once and Painted Hills a handful. Tiffany Greens is where they had a Senior event here years ago and it is tough. Tomahawk is one of my favorites. Not too tough and not too easy. Both courses at Smithville (The Outlaw and The Posse) are a tough test. Sunflower I have mentioned before, is the course I learned the game on and broke 100 for the first time last summer.

Man I'm jealous.Sunflower eats my lunch. I'm happy when I break 60 on 9.I don't know what it is but I can never seem to get it together there. That doesn't keep me from trying though. The final four usually kick my butt.

Jeff: I actually shot a 99 and a 98 the two times I played it last year. Before that, I would guess that my best ever was around 108. Never even came close before. I could sometimes shoot in the upper 40s on the front but would almost always shoot in the high 50s-low 60s on the back. Check out the slope ratings for the course. Men's regular is rated 130 and is 6,600 yards or so. The senior tees are 123 rated and just over 6,000 yards. It is definitely not a short course. (Tips are over 7,000).

Here is my home course Round Valley Golf Course:
http://www.uga.org/clubs/roundvalley/index.cfm
It is not a great course, but an 18 hole course in a town of 2900, I can't complain. The link in not for the course itself and has only one picture, but it's all I have. There are plans to turn it into a vacation resort and will be redesigned by Johnny Miller, but that's still in the work.
There are alot of courses in the SLC valley that I frequent.
