Tenputt’s Handicap Reduction Contest

Ok, for self motivation and competition, I am going to sponsor a contest. My GHIN index is currently 5.7. I am posting a screenshot of my current index. My goal is to get below a 4 in 2020, which would be an approximately 30% drop in my index.

Here is the contest. Whoever wants to enter must post proof of his/her current index. Next year at this time, I will pay for the Albatross membership for the three THPers who improve their index by percentage more than I and are also the three who achieve the greatest percentage improvement.

I hope that made sense. If the new handicap system being implemented impacts the way this can be measured fairly, we will figure out something that is fair.

Informal, joining for motivation: Great goal and courageous to put it on the line. I expect you will reach your target! I don’t have a handicap this year. I ended up 12.7 in 2018. My goal is to get to single digits next year. Based on my informal set of scores this year, I expect I would already be on my way. My lows are similar but the highs have dropped. To move in that direction my lows will need to drop next. New clubs should covet that. ?

Great contest Craig! I'm in, although I think it will be just a hard for me to go from an 11.1 to a 7.7 as it will be for you to go from 5.7 to a sub 4. 30% is a huge drop! But the good news is I was already working on my off season (if I even have one if those) plan for breaking into single digits, so this just gives me another reason.
