TGL Week 3 - NY GC v Atlanta Drive GC

They were up 4-0 on the last hole with like a six footer to win, but would tie regardless. The hammer wasn’t thrown all game and he was a large reason for that. JT and Billy were saying “we should throw it for fun”. Cantlay said “all it can do is hurt us” and they didn’t throw it. He was telling them to hold on to it every single time someone wanted to throw it for entertainment. He was such a downer
 
It’s hard to watch this. I really wanted to like it but even seems like I cannot pay attention for even two hours. My 11yr old asked if we ere watching regular golf of the indoor thing? Bummer that Ricky could not even get a point. Again I was home and able to watch it but was really was not exciting enough to pay attention. I really cannot see this going another season at the rate its going.

How did he get into this. TGL needs relegation. Kisner, him, and a few others need to go.. he obviously does not get what this is about..

Here is Billy Ho saying the quiet part out loud. The "Jeff" he is referring to is Jeff Neubarth as he is listed as the producer for the TGL broadcasts.

Saw this when he said it.. not a great look in my opinion..
 
I have watched two matches so far fast forward and only watch the shots they hit . Find it very boring without any interaction between the players .
Don't think it can last at this pace.
 
Not shocked at all...next week will get a bump with Rory, but this is not sustainable

 
How long till this folds and I can get some discounted polos and hats?

The overall product is not entertaining. The players are not as engaged/engaging as they can or need to be. Bill Ho saying the quiet part out loud lends itself to believe a lot of this is scripted and another big money grab for the players. The "So-Fi Cup" has no allure for the fans or the players and they keep making it seem like the shiny brass ring at the end of the rainbow.

The technology is not consistent and it's showing with shot exectution and players performance.

Ratings wise we new E1 was going to get eyes, we know Tiger will bring eyes, we know Rory will bring some eyes, but they can't play every week.

I could be proven wrong, but I do not see how long term this makes sense financially if the revenue and ratings are not there.

Hmm. I keep seeing it's outperforming anything else on ESPN on weeknights by a decent margin (basketball, etc.). And even real PGA numbers. Maybe it goes downhill quick though....
 
I watched this as a recording. I loved skipping the announcer BS and commercials.

But I felt not bantering about it live on THP I have no interest.

That’s not good for the “sport” as I should be their core audience.

I have no clue on ratings expectations or how it plays against other stuff on the network, but from the article above when I read this, dropping 30% in viewership can't be a good thing, TGL or not.

Week 1 was a relatively strong debut for the simulator golf league with an average of 919,000 viewers, and Week 2 saw a slight uptick to 1,005,000 viewers due to Tiger Woods’s Jupiter Golf Links making their debut. The third week of TGL featured Rickie Fowler’s New York Golf Club against Justin Thomas’s Atlanta Drive Golf Club. It was yet another blowout with Atlanta winning the match 4-0, and the audience fell off more than 30% to an average of 682,000 viewers.
 
Competing against basketball and hockey this as Rory said is "dead in the water"
