EXPERIENCE The 2020 Morgan Cup Sponsored By Cobra PUMA Golf: Want To Be A Tour Player

Sweet

I made the drive from Northern Utah to St. George today. About an hour before I reached my destination, the Governor issued a soft directive to remain at home as much as possible. He indicated that it was fine to be outside for recreation, as long as there were not groups gathering together.

Immediately, the St. George City-owned courses closed. Sand Hollow did not. However, the place is deserted. I think I am the only one in my building. I figure if I am by myself, I am not contributing to the problem any more than if I were home. I am going to play it by ear. I was able to get in 9 holes before dark. After driving for 4 and a half hours, and jumping right from my car to the course, my play was not steller.

What a great course. I don’t know if my iPhone can do it justice. Just breathtaking. I have played the course before, but it had been well over a year and I have not played it a ton. I agree with @GolfFest. I believe the Morgan Cup is going to be won or lost, largely on the greens. They are HUGE, with elephant mounds. If you hit the wrong part of the green, you almost certainly will 3 putt. Also, you could get lost in some of the bunkers. They truly are cavernous.

Morgan Cuppers are going to see some LOOOOONG drives. Here was one of mine today. Keep in mind, I have moderate swing speed (about 100 driver speed and 148 to 150 ball speed with driver).

I will post some better photos when there is better light.

Yes went with the 7 wood at 22.5. So my fairways are 14.5, 18.5, and 22.5. I liked the Speedzone 7 over a hybrid.
The F9 7 wood is my most consistent long club. I have so much confidence every time I pull it out!!

Are you more confident with there being just a little more mass behind the ball?

what are you using it for the most? Tee shots or approach shots?

These are the type of crummy views you have to endure from the rooms at the Sand Hollow Resort.

When I was doing my fittings and club selections, I compared the 7 wood to the T Rail 4 hybrid and the Speed zone 4 hybrid. Yes, the head of the 7 wood was important to me. In addition, I have always hit a 7 wood better and more consistent than any hybrid. And I have more ability to shape shots with the 7 wood.

Got the clubs to the range today and all I can say is Thank You to @JB @GolferGal and Puma/Cobra Golf - @Master Yagley. I love every club.

I went Crossline Cord Cobra Connect grips on all clubs. The HZRDUS Smoke Green shat is such a stable and predictable shaft and I got adjusted to it very quickly. I have the same shaft in all of my woods and they are all easy to hit and very long. I have never played a 5-wood but I was loving that club today. Beautiful mid/high flight and so easy to hit. The Forged Tecs have the $-Taper Lite shaft in them and they felt fantastic. These are definitely longer than my MP20 HMBs and more forgiving. The Speedzone 4i was bent 1* strong and it will be a fantastic tee club on short, tight holes and will be easy to hit off the deck. I will drop more info, pics and reviews in each of the club specific forums, but I wanted to throw up a few pics and initial thoughts here for now.

Great info H8! Thinking about trying a 5 wood myself and glad to see the transition is going well.

Looking great @Tenputt

The course looks amazing. Firm and fast conditions it looks like. I'm expecting big drives.

The gear all looks great so far. Those forged tecs look amazing. I'm also excited to see a lot of 5 woods. Cobra makes some amazing fairways.

This looks like it is going to be a fantastic experience! Can't wait to see who wins the Morgan Cup

Course looks to be in fantastic condition! Thanks for sharing @Tenputt!

That is an amazing setup. Amazing. That’s SZ 4i is going to be deadly

Yeah, they really did. I’ve built my future setup so many times today - I’m going to follow this MC closely and see how people like them.

Man a forged tec 4 iron and speedzone 4 iron seem like they would both be lovely additions to the bag....
