Luckily Vegas hotels are fairly inexpensive. They want you to lose your money in the casino insteadYup, happy to book in wherever we're all staying. Being the foreigner, I'll have to be guided by others here as well - plus I'll need a Vegas hotel on the Wednesday night and potentially a couple of nighhts after too. The bank balance may never recover
Great to hear the back is good again! My back is all good now
I would go back to Wolf Creek or Paiute in a heartbeat.
Well that is indeed a relief. Thankfully I'm not really a gambling man, so hopefully I'll be fairly safe.Luckily Vegas hotels are fairly inexpensive. They want you to lose your money in the casino instead
Mesquite is a kinda sketch and ugly place to stay....so personal rec is go back to Vegas.Should we stay near Wolf Creek Thursday or drive back into Vegas for the night?
Thats a long day. I'd think if you made that drive probably stay the night at Sand Hollow so maybe do it Thursday? Play Wolf Creek on the way back to vegas Friday morning hahaSo is anyone driving from vegas to sand hollow for the day golfing?
Typically need to be back and showered by 5 for Friday night dinner. Last year both teams decided to play practice round at TPC instead of Wolf Creek due to arrivals and time. The JW is basically across the street from the course so it makes it easy. Up to the teams to decide really. If I am following along correctly most want to play Wolf Creek then we have some that want to do Sand Hollow and/or Paiute. I also see that a lot of folks are flying into Vegas on Thursday so it seems like a no brainer to say Wolf Creek needs to be Friday morning so we can drive back (~90 minutes) in time for Friday night.
Maybe @ToddJ027b or @Tenputt has some thoughts here.Wow I did not realize till now how close Sand Hollow was to Wolf Creek. What's the drive like out there? Any good views of large canyons along the way? I have never been in this part of the country.
Sand Hollow is probably 15 minutes or so north and east out of St. George. The drive from St. George to Wolf Creek is not more than about 20 minutes. So, you probably are looking at 40 minutes max from Sand Hollow to Wolf Creek. The drive from St. George to Wolf Creek goes through a very desolate gorge that is not what I would call scenic. Up near Sand Hollow, you start to see the red rock vistas that the area is known so well for.Wow I did not realize till now how close Sand Hollow was to Wolf Creek. What's the drive like out there? There might be 5-10 min of that drive that is what I would call somewhat interesting, but maybe not scenic. Between St. George and Mesquite you have to go through a canyon that is winding, with sheer rock walls and drops. If you drive it look for big horn sheep on the cliff sides.... It is a little longer than 40 min though unless @Tenputt is speeding in a sports car But 50 min max.Sand Hollow is probably 15 minutes or so north and east out of St. George. Maybe it is 50 miles. I have not driven straight from Sand Hollow to Wolf Creek. I have stayed in St. George and played both. It’s pretty close to your estimate or mine.If I remember correctly it is like 50 miles. I am down in that are regularly. I have a brother that lives in St. George. None golfer too.. I dont know what he is doing with his life..
Oh, no... Here we go. Now I am going to have to listen to @NVGOLFER80 discuss how Utah drivers all of lead feet, even though I have tried to host him twice for a round of golf and something always comes up, like pandemics. There might be 5-10 min of that drive that is what I would call somewhat interesting, but maybe not scenic.
