LIVE UPDATE THREAD The 2024 Titleist Experience Featuring GT

Just got to my hotel in Philadelphia, where I'm spending tonight before flying home early tomorrow morning. The Titleist Experience flew by. I can't say enough about how incredible the crew was.

I shared a cart twice each on this trip with @dAS0 and @amarkabove -- both awesome guys. It was fun to root for each other out there.

Over lunch at the end, I thought @JB put it really well when discussing the differences between competitions and events like this one: At competitions, the crew is talking afterward about the golf. At events like these, we're talking about the golf *equipment*. It was so much fun to geek out over our new clubs with the crew and with Stephanie, Josh and Jacquelyn from Titleist.

I know it had to end, but I hope to get a chance to hang out with all these guys again in the future. Really loved how everybody was extremely positive. Even in our last round, when @amarkabove and I were out there with Stephanie Luttrell -- listen, Stephanie's a stick, and she works with the absolute best in the world. But she was out there with us, offering some tips, celebrating with us when we hit nice shots, grinding out some of her own putts, commenting on the sound the driver she designed made when we hit it well.

Everybody gave so much to this event. @Pops was the ringleader getting us organized ahead of time, @ryang13 (R-Yang!) was the heart of this group, @snafu had the great idea to have us all sign those flags, @BMiller813 stole the show with his eagle this morning.

And of course, the THP folks and Titleist crew -- @Canadan put a ton of work into getting everything organized, and gave us all something to dream of doing with the way he crushed that 1 iron. Stephanie was such a great sport with me, putting up with me spending the whole trip asking her a million questions. Josh was awesome -- that guy is a total golf geek, definitely one of us, the kind of guy who'd be on here talking about gear if he wasn't working for a company making it. Plus, the cereal list! And Jacquelyn was hilarious, and super positive -- I'll be riding high on the "mush, mush, mush" chants she started yesterday when I was hitting driver really well for a while.

I'll follow up with another note on the equipment, but just wanted to thank everybody for such an incredible time, and make sure the folks reading along here know how much everybody involved contributed to making this a great event.
Appreciate you my man, that’s a hell of a compliment. I’m a little disappointed we didn’t get to tee it up on this trip, but that’s an easy fix 👊

Me too! Same with @snafu, I was sorry I didn’t get to play with either of you guys, but some day we have to make that happen.

That was my favorite name change approval yet. YESSSS!

Gotta change that Custom Title now @R-Yang13 ;)

I like those waste area type bunkers that are not super manicured.
They have a more native look which I like. They are a firmer which can be slightly easier to get out of too.

Why does he have an extra ball in his pocket? Lol
He is quick to move along if the rare shot of his goes awry. He said to us on the last day, “if you are looking for my ball, please don’t.”

He knows a guy who can get him more golf balls 😆

I spent a lot of time both mornings in the big waste bunker on 3. That one had teeth depending on where in it you were.

Man, that’s a beautiful driver head! I put one in the bag a couple of weeks ago. One thing that does stand out is the GLARE! Did any of you experience the glare effect while playing? I’ve had a few instances where the sun hit the club head just right and shot a shiny glare into my eyes. Titleist is one of the few glossy finished driver heads on the market. I wonder if they have considered a matte finish?
Going from my former former driver (matte finish) to the TSR was a bit of a switch with the crown being so glossy, but after a while I found myself not really noticing it. I didn’t have too many issues out there in Jersey with the gloss, and we had some bright days. I didn’t get a chance to ask about this, but maybe one of the other guys can chime in. I do recall a tidbit about one of the prototypes being matte and two-tone with the new crown material and their tour feedback being a little nervous about that.

Oh man I really wanted to get these. Almost did. I’m glad someone tried them. How was it?
If you like sushi, get it. More crunch with the cones. There was a 4th cone, but like a few swings, I got quick...

How is everyone's credit card doing after visiting the Pro Shop so many times? Worry about it later, right? :ROFLMAO:
I don’t intend to actually add it up. I got the Zero Restriction pull over on sale rack at 30% off so I’m counting that as a win. Compared to hotel bill rental car and extra rounds the pro shop bill wasn’t bad. I hope.

It is a great club with the feel and sound right where I want it to be. You will like love it.
This is also the same reason I’m choosing to not hit it right now. Lol

Pulled up some quick numbers from Shotscope. Good drives range from 247 up to 272. Best drive was final drive on 18 of 289. It does get a little roll out. The GT3 is going to be a great driver fit. Timing was off a little at the event. Good swings produced some really good numbers.

First range session at home course coming up soon followed by first round. With just a little time to dial things in the GTs will be even better than at the event.

One thing I realized too late is I should have paid more attention to cleaning off those sandy range balls. (Another thing I realized is I'm hitting my 7 wood a little heel-side...)

I kind of like it though -- I think I feel the same way as @amarkabove when he mentioned the marks on his. This club has a fun story to tell, and I don't really notice it at address.

Great day 93 morning 84 after noon
That 84 is huge! From the start of the pre-event rounds to how you played at Hidden Creek was brilliant, even with a few windows to hit through.

The cap must dropeth! Well played!

The improvement you showed from first practice round till final event round was so much fun to watch. We all got to experience your goal of getting under a 20 cap with you. Like we all said your much better than that. 15 is not that far away.

Oh go ahead. What could it hurt except your bank account. 🤣🤣🤣
If I was in shambles with driver I might haha. But I’m not lol

Seeing @BMiller813 make his 1st eagle and then come within inches of a hole in one was special. Enjoyed playing with you man.

Fair enough. Think how good you would be with the GT. Things could be really special. 🤣🤣 Just sayin.

Likewise. You almost spoke that hole in one into existence. Really enjoyed our rounds together. Swinging Pete is going to stay with the rest of the memories from this amazing trip

Loving the pics. So many memories from my Dormie Experience with Vokey in April. Question for team titleist. At my Vokey fitting, we talked all things titleist and my fitter let slip that in the TSR series, there wasn't as much separation between the 2 and 3 and many golfers would fit into both pretty successfully. Does Titleist feel like they've gotten more separation between the 2 and 3 with the GT series?
The goal is to create different clubs that will cover more players, and not put out a bunch of clubs that do basically the same thing. There is nice separation with the GT2 and 3 based on the weight locations and different adjust abilities.
