EXPERIENCE The 2025 Goat Cup with Callaway Golf at GrayBull

Not a jewelry guy but will gladly display the ring. We aren't going to Nebraska to lose Chris.

@Muchmore hope you find yourself home soon, after your return travel adventures.
So after your visit to another amazing Dormie property do you have any words of wisdom for this group going into The Goat Cup and GrayBull? I know New Jersey and Nebraska both start with N, but that might be the extent of what they have in common. I believe @thscott05 is an experience rookie, but we could all benefit from some nuggets of wisdom…ya know from one forum member to another 🤣 (I kid, I kid)

That will have only been my second property I’ve been to in the network but the first that required decent travel planning to and from the airport.

This one could be the same type of thing so just make sure you have a pretty flexible schedule. I think all of us are staying Tuesday night already so that covered one tip of not having a rigid schedule. Leaving room for some adjustments is huge. But don’t have a 30 minute layover in Denver once we leave NP. I have three hours until my flight out of Denver after.

This course is kind of hallowed ground still seeing as only one other group has been there. Don’t be dumb like I was and buy everything you’re wanting from the proshop in one go. You’ll find stuff you didn’t see the first time or from walking around with other people. I did that at Hidden because it was my first time there and I thought I’d go big. Well I did, but it only got me three things because I was impatient and overspent on an item I told myself I needed without looking at any of the other options in that category.

In regards to our sponsor, please come armed with pretty great knowledge of the products. Don’t think that will be an issue in the slightest, but we do have a pretty damn great page here with a treasure trove of articles and threads to gain that knowledge if you need it.

Also be knowledgeable because we have a bunch of unfettered access to these guys. Come armed with questions that you want to ask over the two-three days. And not just one or two. You have golf and two dinners as well as lunch. We fill the time with conversation, not dead air. I’ve seen that before. It’s not fun

Last thing was a new experience for me. Prepare for conditions that may not be ideal. I’ve been so fortunate before this last week, to have been to four THP experiences and have outstanding weather at all four. This was a first for me and it was miserable at times being unprepared. Thank god Dan had an extra rain jacket for me or I would have been a goner trying to play in that

Come with an open mind, a semi open wallet, and ready to have a great freaking time! The game may not travel with you (though I felt like mine would have this time or been super close if the weather wasn’t the way it was), but these are going to be lasting memories regardless of how we play.

Not enough people will see this. This is fantastic advice for all Experience goers.

Also, who has the link to the Experience FAQ that was recently put together? I tried searching for it and cant find it. It's immensely helpful to someone knew (and old). I'm going to bookmark it if I find it again....

@Templet0n has been doing such a great job with the GrayBull hole previews 👊.
As we review these does anyone feel they need a different club(s) to help navigate this course? I have come back to the Callaway OG UW, which took a backseat while I played some other clubs the past few seasons. But it is back and with a vengeance. It’s going to give me some great versatility and will allow me to hit some low bullets and keep it out of the Nebraska prairie winds.

I feel like the only thing I could add to my bag is a 5h to make sure I have a good club for any of those longer approaches. If I don’t get that June though, I’m locked in to what’s in my signature!

With all the wind at GrayBull, wonder if the 5i will be better to have in the bag than a hybrid.

I’m sure the wind would play a role, but contact would as well. My 5i is my least successful club at the moment so I’m not sure it would be the play even if I could keep it lower. Still plenty of time to figure things out though!

The 4h is so versatile, you can still flight it down. Move the ball back, and punch it a bit was successful for me last week.

I actually just ordered a 2 hybrid last week to test out as a potential second tee option to fight the wind.

Luckily I just hit low piss missiles :ROFLMAO:

I'm thinking about 3h vs a 5w and pulling the GW out of my bag
