EXPERIENCE The 2025 Grandaddy of em All with Callaway Golf

Even with the numbers? 🤣

I’m really looking forward to seeing how Callaway advances the core line with irons I have ideas on equipment going into the fitting, but very much open.
It could be core line irons or new Apex replacements. So hard to guess. Always a different schedule for them

The online fitting tool puts me in the ai150 which makes sense because it’s their current closest iron to the iron that I’m playing now. I have no issues with that.

I know the stories behind the products and am trying to not let any noise inside my head prior to getting there minus the new putter releases. Trying to not have any opinions walking into fitting.

I would encourage at least somewhat of an idea of where you think you may land walking into the fitting as it'll give you and your fitter a good baseline to begin with. We all know what we like to look down at, and what we "traditionally" play well- have that to start and it'll make the fitting time more optimal.

Oh I have that part memorized and already written down. Just speaking in terms of X Forged vs Ti Fusion type of thing.

Got it that makes sense then. Just didn't want you to go in with the "I have no clue what I should be hitting" mentality. Having an idea for your starting point makes yours and the fitters life much simpler.

You and I have discussed often how good the Elyte & Elyte X irons are in that thread. I will be asking to hit the *New-New equivalent. Give me the same or better than the X and we are off.

Agreed, but in the same breath once we got wind of the new line Ai Smoke I started out in my fitting with those and for some reason I did not jive with them and it threw my swing off. In the end “G” got me in the right clubs.

I love it!! I left Carlsbad saying that the irons won't get much fanfare as the advancements in the driver and fairways would steal a lot of that thunder- but I still stand by saying the irons were the stars of the release. (I know most don't agree there)

Now the cool part is going to be, if you end up in the "New-New" equivalent, will you be able to convert me, @Joshnoble01 and @Dougie :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

100% I went and tested the AI line before we got to CA- and my comment to Gerritt was I was fit into the 200's, but really like the look of the Elytes from the presentation last night. I'd like to hit both of those- and that was our starting point. That's all I'm encouraging there...

That's the hope, right? New-New so good they'll make you wanna slap yo momma!

So got a chance to chat with some of the team Tuesday night, and one thing we didn't talk about was how each of you is preparing for the post experience reviews. How are you guys thinking about the next phase of the experience? Prepare notes ahead of time? Full write up when you get back? What are you thinking?

I went into it with an idea of how I wanted to approach, notes during the presentation, photos on the course, and ShotScope with me to help with some of the stats and memory from the rounds given my cold climate. Looking back, the most difficult part for me was the notes during the presentation- just because we were shoving some really good food into our mouths during it I missed a couple of sections that I needed for the iron write up haha.

In the end after we got back I ended up buying a set of the AiSmoke that summer. 🤣

I had no plan of getting new irons this past season as I loved what I was playing. Just hearing from you guys and me peppering @Joshnoble01 w/ questions changed my mind. I was planning on getting them and then the Goat Cup selection cemented it. Couldn't be happier.

That would be a fun option for you. I swung one a few weeks ago and was blown away.

This is a good question for the team, especially with the info we got during the last AMA earlier in the week

I really don't understand why people don't try them. Well I actually do, but still. I"ve had people of varied skill level from scratch to mid teens hit my core set and come away really impressed/surprised...no shocked really.

Heck I even let a buddy of mine who is 72 use the whole set for over a month since I can't swing. If the shafts would have been anywhere close to what he uses, not sure I would have gotten them back :ROFLMAO: Actually never had a doubt I would, but just wished I could have seen him play them.

I did trade in my AI Smoke towards my ideal set of A150's. Was only able to hit a few of them before sidelined. I can tell you that the Elyte Core would put up a fight against even those from my brief stint.

What I mean is don't overlook something out of your normal first glance type of profile from paper/pictures. This goes both ways from GI to CB or CB to GI. Give the new/new some swings just to see.

It may open some eyes of what's really inside the club. They absolutely nailed the tech and looks with the Elyte.

What is coming next is where you guys can peal the curtain back for us.

My first thoughts were to take as many notes as possible during the presentation. I will obviously want to get as many pics as possible too so once any embargo is lifted I can use them. I will be extremely active in each thread for the equipment I end up in. I will answer any questions any THP'ers have. I will also probably PM you and all the other alumni for thoughts, tips, suggestions, etc. on how to be better.

I am sitting here at this very moment getting my notebook squared away with different sections. Notes, questions, etc... Good point on the food - I am probably going to get salsa all over this notebook.

You read my mind with the last sentence 😂

I have no doubt you will nail this very important piece of this experience! The notes during presentation...I mentioned an option earlier. Don't want to keep repeating it but know it's something I wish I would have asked/done.

Everyone's feedback would benefit and would be nice not guessing or unsure about what was mentioned or notes jotted down correctly.

Review with authoritative notes will come across much better.
