All the Caps catching strays!
I smiled when I saw Legacy on a recent THP Grandaddy promo on the socials.Legacy.![]()
There is a rumor going around he and Ryan Day share the same bottle of dye for their beard. Not sure if that's true, but many people are saying it.
I'd swear he was a ginger when he had hair. There is a rumor going around he and Ryan Day share the same bottle of dye for their beard. Not sure if that's true, but many people are saying it.
The beard is suspiciously darker than when we were at the Grandaddy.I'd swear he was a ginger when he had hair.
Well said. Such an incredible event and it’s just astonishing how much the people at Callaway really care. I am still and will always be so grateful for being able to be part of the Grandaddy last year.Let me say something because yesterday was a pretty emotional day for me.
And those that know me, know I dont have emotions, so that is strange.
The last few weeks have been mayhem. Unrelated to this thing, but it will get me there.
I had a call with Gordon and team that was a lot of fun. Talking about the execution of this event and them making sure that every ounce possible is there to make you guys feel amazing, because Callaway Golf has designed the best products in the world that you are going to see before anybody.
Then I got to speak with Nick, you will meet him and those in previous events, have met him. He is their Chief Marketing Officer. He is someone that I consider a friend, but more importantly than that, he again, reiterated, how much Callaway cares about the people coming and the people following along.
You are seeing a trend.
Fast forward to a few days ago, @jdtox and I are on a call with AT. Big shoes to fill, and no person in the world that I am more confident in, in filling them than this man. We went over every aspect, making sure, once again, that THPers (both present and those following) understand how much this means to them. They are close to being ready.
Then fast forward to last night and speaking (via text) with the man behind this entire thing. Jason Finley. He is known as a villain, and, well, honestly, he is a villain. At least when he needs to be. I won't rehash what he has gone through the last handful of years (not including having to deal with me) or what he just went through or even his recovery, but what was the first thing he said to me "Let me know when the live thread is up, so I can be a part of it".
Ya know, nearly 18 years ago, when I started this thing, I had a plan. I had goals. I had a vision. Most of what you are seeing laid out across this website, forum, etc was part of that vision and plan. I was asked on the video preview if I saw this being what it is, and the answer was yes. I did, because of what it entails. I did, because of what our community stands for (and doesn't). I did, because of the brand involved. Most importantly, I did, because there were a few constants. Those being the people.
We get asked a lot about why we work with who we do. It starts with they have to make products we believe in. It ends with the people behind the products. I am humbled to be able to have those choices, at least now, and will forever be grateful for all of them. But I will always stand by the people that care about this community. I don't care about me, or those close to me in this specific situation. Its about the ones that care about the people here.
We are just over 2 weeks away from the greatest amateur event ever created. That first night I will pour one out for Jason, as he was 86ed (get it, 8 and 6) from this event for the very first time, and will celebrate the newcomers that are making this all possible. Be humble. Be thankful. Understand there is no "deserve" (and that will make more sense once it starts), but know going in, you are surrounded by people that genuinely care. It's not an act. It's not putting on a show. They care.
Team Our Time (horrible name by the way, but I am embracing it). You are barely over 2 weeks away from this very special journey. I would tell you to be prepared, but you will not be. Its not possible, because its that ******* good!

The fact that all of you guys have pictures saved of me on your phone = IM A LEGEND!
There is zero doubt about that. The fact that all of you guys have pictures saved of me on your phone = IM A LEGEND!
It wasn’t even close to being a beard at the Grandaddy. The beard is suspiciously darker than when we were at the Grandaddy.
Nobody sleeps past their tee time either thenAre rangefinders with slope allowed? Seems to be a controversy with another but lesser golf event.![]()
This is so good. Had to go back and read it again. I have been incredibly grateful from the moment I was picked to be part of something as special as this. Then you read through stuff like this and hear accounts from previous participants about how much Callaway does and your mind is just blown.Let me say something because yesterday was a pretty emotional day for me.
And those that know me, know I dont have emotions, so that is strange.

I don't do the social stuff, but @Hawk is always paying attention.I smiled when I saw Legacy on a recent THP Grandaddy promo on the socials.
(Pay no attention to the fact it wasn’t in reference to our team). I took it as proof JB embraced our choice of team name too. #teamsubaru
Yes, but you have a forecaddie and GPS on the cart. Are rangefinders with slope allowed? Seems to be a controversy with another but lesser golf event.![]()
I will echo what @JB said....you will have no need for a rangefinder. Corythecaddie had my brand new iron carry distances dialed in 2 holes. Course knowledge and the skill at their craft by the Hideaway caddies is second to none. Are rangefinders with slope allowed? Seems to be a controversy with another but lesser golf event.![]()

Yes, but you have a forecaddie and GPS on the cart.
I promise you do not need this.
I see you stirring.... Not doing it. I wouldn't call out any of them. I will be happy to play whoever I am assigned to.So we've seen the Callaway squad, anyone on Team our Time have a list of folks they'd like to face in Singles? Who wants a shot at @Luke WilliamsCG or @callmedaddy . @21Gonzo is a gamer, and now y'all have the best10,12I mean 14 handicap in @JohnnyRodCG to face. So folks who is on your list??
Definitely not stirring- wasn't looking for you to tell Luke that you're taking him out, more looking at who you'd like to see when you jump in that cart on day 2 and get ready to rumble.I see you stirring.... I mean... if someone has someone they think they'd have an incredible time sharing a round with, I absolutely would take that info into consideration with everything else.I see you stirring.... Not doing it. I wouldn't call out any of them. I will be happy to play whoever I am assigned to.![]()
Honestly anyone on Team Our Time or Team Callaway is going to make for an incredible round.I mean... if someone has someone they think they'd have an incredible time sharing a round with, I absolutely would take that info into consideration with everything else.
No bulletin board material from me. I’d play with any of these folks. Beating some of their big guns would be fun though. So we've seen the Callaway squad, anyone on Team our Time have a list of folks they'd like to face in Singles?
