EXPERIENCE The 2025 Morgan Cup with Cobra Puma Golf

Since the announcement, I remind myself daily how unbelievably fortunate I am. I will savor every moment of this season, as opportunities such as these are truly once in a lifetime events, and I couldn't have found myself a better group of folks to experience it all with if I had tried.

This is the Morgan Cup.
Can echo this sentiment as well.

Being a new guy, not just to the Morgan Cup but to THP and generally newish to the game itself, this opportunity is surreal.

The couple of stories above are a testament to the effect that this event has had on it's participants and the value it brings to the guys at Cobra. Can't wait to have some stories of my own to share after going through this season. Hoping to do team Paradise proud!

Wow. That is definitely tour-level stuff. Truly amazing. I can't wait to meet those two!
I would add this:

Even with what is being shared already, I look forward to the moment when it hits you guys how unbelievable this all is and I hope I get to be there when it happens. We could share the types of things we are sharing and still never capture how unreal it all seems. Taking nothing at all from what has been experienced already, but it seems all expectations continue to be blown out of the water each time you think it couldn't possibly get better.

As a guy that is new to the fraternity of Morgan Cup THPers. I’d love to hear in your words and others who have been some of the things that stand out to you and say “Yep I’m being treated like a tour player”.

Sure, I’ve read and followed all the threads since I’ve been here and I know from an outsider perspective what all this event entails. But I’d love to hear a few tidbits from the guys who’ve been in the room.

We could make this really fun and when you get done posting your opinion tag someone else that’s been to post theirs.
Getting to play with Jose the round before the MC started was such a cool experience. As someone who has played a fraction of the golf that Jose has, he never made me feel like a burden or that I didn’t belong. He game me a handful of lesson/pointers and made me feel welcomed. They truly are invested in the event and go above and beyond to make it a special experience for everyone.

I remember you telling me this story last year and that is exactly who Jose and Yagley are. I remember Jose doing helping @Bernoulli after the event was over and we still had some time at the range a few years ago.

That’s correct. It’s displayed in my avatar. That’s Jose giving me a lesson after the Morgan Cup at Dormie Club. He was working with me on releasing the club. He took time after the event to work with me on the range.

To this day, I am still so grateful that he took the time to help me with my golf game. It showed me how much he truly cares about all the people in the Morgan Cup.

Being there is something special. Yags and Jose are two of the best people I have ever had the privilege of spending time with on and off the course.

I missed some stuff while I have been in Hawaii. I think it speaks volumes that I had no debate on bringing the new sticks on vacation with me before ever swinging them at home. I have really enjoyed the clubs on vacation and can't wait to dial them in.

I want to echo a lot of what has been said about the experience. Both Jose and Yags give a lot to the experience before and after the event. I will say the best part for me is still being in touch most of the guys from the 21 team. The Morgan Cup creates relationships if you let it. There is a lot requested from the participants but I have not seen either experience be a chore for me.

2 instances really stick out in my head:

1 - @cagolfer went before the Morgan Cup last year and visited Cobra HQ, while there he met with Yags and Yags had his team come in to ask CAGolfer questions about his experience with the clubs and how he liked them. CAGolfer is a great guy but he was absolutely treated like a tour player here in trying to get his feedback on what he liked and what he thought could be improved -- hopefully he will recount his experience more, but it's been shared in the past.

2 - Warming up for the practice round at the Quarry, Yags has the 3DP irons in his bag and of course we are all checking them out, and he invites everyone to give them a go, try them out. After we tried them out, we had some time standing around waiting to tee off where he asked our opinions which we started to give him but then he told us to hold on, he wanted to record our reactions for the team so they could hear from us what we thought. Just some random internet golfers giving their take on 20 swings at the range, but Yags cared enough to want to know.

There was so much more to add to the experience. I will try to add to what is already there. Other than the access to the two of the smartest people in the industry, I got to go upstairs to Yagley’s office and he showed me around his teams work spaces. I am sure I saw someone new stuff even before they announced it, but I was too in awe to take it all in.

Fast forward to the event and im struggling with the driver. Yagley hands me a 10.5 Darkspeed X and says try this one. I played that head the whole comp, and still played it until I got the Adapt X. I know he also brought some putter weights and shafts for other folks. Let’s not even get into the presentation deck with the 2025 lineup they gave to a bunch of randos from the internet. 🤣 If that is not a pro experience, I don’t know what is.

These stories are the best. Thank you guys for sharing them!

Yeah all these responses about how we are treated as tour players hit the nail on the head. And for some getting to watch it happen from a 3rd party perspective @Redd @Bernoulli and what Jose and Yags took the time to do for you guys. I share those memories with you guys. The thing is, none of us are even remotely close to tour players, we are all Joe Dirts (except for @MarMill, he is Joe Dentist) that this is as close as we will ever come to that feeling of a tour player. And to have the upper echelon folks at the brand bend over backwards to make you feel that way is pretty darn special.

So before MC 2024 practice round, all of Paradise is hanging out on the patio of our hotel. Jose gets in at like 10p after a bunch of travel previously and is dog tired. He probably should have just went to bed because we had to be up at 7 for our practice round. Instead he goes straight from the airport doesn’t even eat and hangs with us on the patio till past midnight. Had to get food delivered. And we had some really spirited discussion on things he really wanted our input on. He didn’t need to do any of these things but it was absolutely genuine.

That was a special evening. Getting everyone together and just chatting about life. I love how personable it is on all levels. They really care about the product, but care about the player as well.

Just got my shipping notification. So excited to get to put this whole set in play and document my experience. Thanks again @TWright and all the other #teamHackers for helping me thus far and I can’t thank the entire THP community enough for helping make this happen for me. Can’t wait for September!!

Seems like most have received their orders if not all. What is the one club you are excited about and what club are you most curious about?
Currently I’m most excited about the 3W. I have not felt the instant success with a 3W since the LTDx. As great as the DS-ADAPT is for the driver, it’s a game changer for the woods.

I will say, I scooped up a ds-adapt 5 wood and it in a short 1 month time became my favorite club!

I love that! Cobra fwy's have flown under the radar. I was a big fan of last years Darkspeed but I think the DS-Adapt are even better.

I switched from a Callaway paradym 3wood and I don't know what it is about this club but I hit it so much better!

Well, my scheduled delivery date of today for the MC set got pushed to Monday so the planned maiden voyage on course tomorrow will have to wait a couple weeks. I will have to live vicariously through all the other Morgan Cuppers for a bit longer... :cautious:

Yeah, FedEx is amazing. It will be worth the wait though.

One day set you back weeks? Why is that?

Clubs arrive today (hopefully) and I leave tomorrow for a week long trip for work. I'll be able to get to the range early next week but won't get to play until the following weekend.

Ah ok that makes sense.

I actually had a decent round yesterday with my current gamers so I have a really good baseline for comparison.

77% FW hit
33% GIR

The back nine of the course I played has 3x Par 3 and 3x Par 5's so more fairway opportunities. The measure there will be distance with the Max K.

Cant wait for that GIR to go up.

Was lucky enough to get a round in this weekend and had to rep on one of the nicer courses I’ve played IMG_9538.jpeg

I'm sorry you had to use those tees...did it feel like losing?

I've got some fantastic red ones if you or anyone need them. Just shoot me a DM.
