LIVE UPDATE THREAD The 2025 PGA Merchandise Show

I am truly confused but this... I do not understand buying up a bunch of dead brands.. Golf nostalgia is not that strong.. Plus, why have all of them??
Sell the same product to the small fan base of each dead brand? All they gotta do is stamp the different logo on as the last step in their "process" whatever that is.

Great night with the guys from Golftec and skytrak. We will have more from them coming up this week. I cannot stress enough if you like indoor golf, this years Skytrak experience is going to be amazing

Tell us more is this something new ?

i’m posting this and doing so not to be an asshole but rather ask the question. Does this breed or make you think of “innovation”?

This is the companh behind, 5+ names, shared booth space on the smaller side and clubs in racks. Outside of a logo, what makes someone want these? Asking genuinely.

This looks like a display at a discount sporting goods store like Big 5.

It's nostalgia farming and nothing more at this point. At least that's how I view it.

Haha, different Ram of course.
But it's Macgregor, Ben Hogan, Ram, Zebra and Tear Drop.
Ngl I stumbled across a review of the new teardrop and am interested. Zero nostalgia because I thought the original teardrop putter was terrible. I ❤️ the way the ball comes off of my cobra putter’s DLT face and the teardrop is a similar concept.

@JB leaving their booth after the question.

Based on the group, I like my chances.

In a way it’s what it looks like exactly. I actually don’t even think it’s nostalgia like many do. i think it’s “we don’t want to spend the money to market that a takomo does and are selling the same thing, so maybe people have heard of it”?

I mean, are they wrong if this is it? I didn't mean it as a shot or anything either. I don't have strong opinions on it. Based on all of the articles on THP I have read and threads on new irons I am personally just out on companies that aren't doing their own R&D. I would rather have 2 generation-old equipment if buying new was cost-prohibitive than buy a blank that has no tech from company. It's not good or bad. Just is what I think and I don't blame someone for thinking differently and wanting new and shiny for cheaper.

I'm with you. I'd rather buy NOS Paradym or ZX4/5 irons from 2-3 years ago rather than the latest no-R&D blanks from a DTC company that picked the heads out of a catalog and had their name stamped on it.

100%, If I were buying blanks I probably would want to make my own personal logo and order them myself. But zero chance I am not going with tech.

Yes. Its in a weird spot, more with accessories than hard goods, which I guess makes sense as a trinket company.
Should I ask them where everything is made?
It's like you ready my mind.....

it makes me think of shopping at Kmart

I would not be allowed to drive that at a THP event.
1) I'll bet it costs at least $50K.

2) The rollover threshold on that thing has got to be somewhere just above 0 mph with the CG up that high. Make a turn at 10 mph with 2 people and golf clubs loaded in it and you're probably on your side.

I think the cost would be closer to 4-5x of 50k
