Summer means Shiner Ruby Redbird which means James is a very happy boy.
Just picked up my first case of summer beer! Happy to be back in PA for summer beer season, but missing Boulevard beer from KC

Wren House Brewing. Phoenix, AZ.
The Dreamy Draw is the the name of the mountain preserve next to where I live.
My wife and I stopped at the Wren House in March of 19 when we were in AZ for spring training. Loved the place.

Some I’ve had recently include, and my taste run mostly on the Imperial Stout side.... BBA? Yes please!

This was an imperial Porter. 9.5ABV. Good for its style but not really my cup of tea. Being used to IS’s, anything I can drink without feeling like I need to chew it first is starting to taste like light beer.

This was one from Hoppin Frog up in Akron. The Gavel Slammer. At 17.4%, yeah one was enough. I’m glad I only had one as it (and everything of theirs I’ve had) is so good I’d be tempted to have another. Probably to bad results. You may be sensing I have a beer drinking chair....

DuClaw PastryArchy Series. This one was a good intro for someone to IS’s. It was supposedly Carmel Marchmellow but if I had to sum it up, it was the perfect blend of chocolate milk, coffee, and beer. Definitely drinkable. At 8.5% ABV I could even have two.

Brew Kettles Tanguska. Russian IS 11.1%. Maybe a little complex and bitter for my tastes. IBU’s are similar to IPA’s but they are disguised better. Not bad, but one sixer was enough.

I’ve been on a stupid diet so that’s about all I’ve had since February. I had a Hoppin Frog Pentuple at 16% or so too. That one was WAY too smooth and again I’m glad I only had one in the house. I’ve had Trippel’s before but this was in a league of its own. Smooth and buttery. Oh my.

I know it’s not a multiquote @JB, but it’s close;)

Sampled a few too many tall boys from Kane Brewing this weekend. Favorite was Cloud Cover, their Belgian wheat beer.

AZ has a very good collection of breweries. Wren is high on my list. definitely the best place to hangout and meet friends.

New Anthem Little Star Pale Lager. There are a lot of microbreweries that make mediocre beer but New Anthem is not one of them. I would have preferred to have picked up Pale Ale but this is a good lighter beer.9756821F-0FAE-428A-881E-8FA6B0DB453A.jpeg

Pondering a kegerator... 🤔

Do it! I got my first one in 2012 and have one now in our lake home. We do a lot of entertaining and the tap beer is greatly appreciated by our guests. Quality beer is cheaper by the half barrel(15.5 gallons), most are about $155-$185 for what equals 165 beers. :)

I like amber and red ales. Mixhelob Ultra is a good beer for after a round of golf.

Tonight’s selections.

Picked up some of this one to try. I love trying Hefe's to see if any can ever beat out my favorite Ayinger Hefe.

Only had their ipa and the 2x BODHI... Anything of reccomendation

Bodhi is fantastic. I’ve only had their IPA and Bodhi as well. I’ve tried some Land Grant Brewing Co stuff recently. Their Stiff Arm is pretty good.
