I was thinking about this trend, and how when we see a driver we call “deep” now, it isn’t TRULY deep as we have seen previously.

Will the DEEP faced driver ever come back? I’d love @JB take on this.

And what are some of your favorite DEEP faced drivers ever? Pictures required! And I know which one I’d bet I’d going to be posted first…don’t let me down my vintage THP crew…

The deep deep is gone. they have found better ways..

Are you creating threads just for me today, James?

Cleveland Classic 290 baby!

No deep faced driver discussion is complete without this monstrosity

POWWWW!!!

Was never a fan of deep faced anything for whatever reason

Not sure. Aerodynamics play a pretty large role here. I will defer to Mike Yagley on this, but have a call with him next week and will ask.
When I think of deep face, I think of the Cleveland Classic.

Definitely! I still have a head hanging around. Need to put a shaft in it and give it another go.

I wish I was a better golfer when the R9 Superdeep came out. That thing, at least in my memory, had the deepest face I thought possible.

The problem with the deep deep is it creates not enough sidespin forgiveness. Need that weight out wide and with the deep face you can't go wide.

TEE EXS Pro has a pretty deep face for a modern driver - especially one with a 440cc head.

One favorite of mine was the 910 D3 from Titleist

One I wish that made it to the states so I could see and try it out from Mizuno

I think it could be a fun question. I’d assume they can accomplish now with a less deep face what they were trying to then, and keep VASTLY better aero.

I remember the faces on the Adams Speedline drivers being really tall.

This one is the gold standard for deep faced drivers. That face was huge.

In today’s drivers, I think Cleveland and XXIO probably have the deepest faces still.

If I remember correctly this one was pretty deep
