for a soul to steal. He comes to you and says "I'll bet this Scotty of Gold that you can't do one of these:

1, Make a 10 foot straight putt
2. Hit it within 10 feet from 150 yards or
3. Hit the fairway with your drive on a tight fairway"

Do you take the bet and if you do which do you choose ?

I will choose #3.

I don’t make the bet. But if I have to choose, #1 is probably going to be my best chance.

first question...has the devil seen me play already?

#1 no contest for me.

Can I use iron on #3? Then #3

#3 is a no brainier, nice easy 3/4 swing on the fairway and then flip the Scotty.

I'll take #3. Pick a nice short iron that will reach the fairway.

I don't bet with my friends, and I'm not betting with the Devil.

But I thought this was interesting. According to Golf Magazine,
  • the probability of an average Tour pro hitting three consecutive approach shots to within 20 feet from 100 yards is 25.6%
  • the probability of an average Tour pro hitting three consecutive approach shots to within 10 feet from 100 yards is 2.6%

Pass. That doesn’t sound like fun.

Definitely #1 unless I am allowed to take out my driver and punch one about a 150 yard. on 3. #2 is something I do about once every 3 rounds so I am not betting on that.

#2

The 9-8-7 irons are the best part of my game.

I'd take #3 if the Devil let my hit a long iron off the tee.

I’ll take #3....if the fairway is like 100-125 yards away, I’d take a high lofted iron (wedge/9 iron) and easy swing into the fairway. Bingo!

#2 I would struggle with getting the ball within 10' at 150 yards. That would be the most difficult for me. If it were 100 in, I could probably have a better chance at 10'.

#3 for sure!!!

Was this golf course in Georgia, and did the devil have a violin?

Depends on how tight the fairway is but probably number 3. Number 2 would be the last 10 feet is tight on a 15 yard shot.

#3, PW to the center of the fairway.

#3.

#1 for me
