Smash burgers tonight on homemade brioche buns.

What a showoff with the home-made buns. ;)I envy you as I have not taken on baking bread.

Brioche is a little tricky, but it’s easier than I think people make it out to be. You should give baking bread a try!

My overnight soaking french toast. People fill my house for brunch when this is on the menuIMG_2980.jpeg

If you’re in the Dirty Myrtle, I suggest you try Big Mike’s soul food!

So simple, but few things I enjoy as much as a slice of hot, buttered cornbread on a cold day.

Was your camera lens covered by a potato? haha
Yes. Damnit. I knew I forgot something.

Removed as much of the potato as possible.

Mcgoos did equal parts helping and taste testing this morning - old fashioned buttermilk donut bars with brown butter maple glaze.

Pre-covid there was a restaurant we loved cakes Mokomandy. It was a Cajun Korean fusion place that had the best starter I've ever had: gochujang Korean pot roast sliders. An almost fried bread with pot roast, gochujang, Kim chi, pickled radish, microgreens. Gorgeous. Unfortunately it closed during covid, but one of their sous chefs started a Hawaiian BBQ place that's great too.

For my birthday my partner secretly emailed the chef to see if he'd recreate the dish for us and he agreed emphatically. Just like I remember. It probably tasted better because the gift was so thoughtful, but it's really really good. @JB for Korean food value
