The Internet Invitational 2025
This is better than your average PGAT event. Don’t get me wrong I love watching the majors and they will top anything on YT. But the mix of great players and less than great players with the interaction is what I like to watch.
This has been some of the best golf to watch. The vibes carry the episodes. I think this is what the intention was for The Match but tour golfers are not entertainers. I’m a big fan of Chaz now.
Chaz has serious game.
One thing that was weird to me was Spiranac. I don't understand her brand. She seems to want to be seen as a golfer and not as a model but at the same time wears the most revealing outfits she possibly can
It’s kind of crazy how intriguing this event has been for me. I watch Bob Does Sports and some Good Good, but that’s about it. Before this started there’s no way I would have thought I would watch every minute of multiple hours long videos. Yet here I am just waiting for the next drop on Thursday. It sounds like they’re already planning for next year, so hopefully they’ll iron out any kinks and have something even better then.
She’s a serious golfer too. She is definitely both a model and golfer. I think she could benefit from not caring so much about what others think. Just go and play. I think she’d become even more popular.
It's easy to understand her brand. It's all about drawing views, and she draws views. Lots of them. And she knows exactly why, and has been pretty forthright about it in interviews. But she's also a very good golfer, she played D1 college golf for U of A and SDSU, and earned All-Mountain West Conference honors.
I've watched every minute of this and am caught up and I'd say I was pretty burned out on YouTube golf.
This was just incredibly well done, it was entertaining, the golf was great in spots. The draft and the way in which they put together the teams was highly entertaining and I didn't even knolw half of the youtubers.
Couple that with the fact that they shot this in a way to just really bring out and showcase their personalities which has been incredibly fun to watch. The unfiltered R rated version of it is also the ONLY way to go. I loved seeing the true Bubbie. Even seeing the shift in Paige's competitiveness was interesting. I'd say she's typically more flirty and plays in her character, but she almost lost her character bit in this and became this competitive golfer, strategist and I enjoyed her so much more as a real human being.
The Luke Kwon thing is just very interesting. He obviously takes full blame, but I can't imagine a THP event in which we didn't account for everyone before we teed off. Like...Mason was sharing a room with this dude? To be fair we've never had a THP event with 48 people, but thinking back to few I were at, like everyone was still at the range together I just don't get how no one from the team accounted for Luke. It's weird to me. Don't' get me wrong it's still on him, but I can tell you if I was the captain of that team, I'd sure as hell have made sure everyone was up and accounted for.

I don't mind watching the clips of things, but I can't see myself sitting down to watch all of these long episodes, but from what I've seen so far, it is entertaining!
Alright I'm finally fully caught up on all 3 episodes (and this thread) so I'm gonna rapid fire my takes on everything that has happened so far...
*This whole thing is super well produced. I know the Barstool brand is toxic to many people but I think seeing how they organized, shot, and edited this whole thing is commendable.
*Kwon clearly was in the wrong. It is so unbelievably disrespectful to both his team and the organizers to just miss his tee time. I see many people are saying the 4 hole penalty was too harsh but frankly he should have been kicked out entirely. Imagine spending all the time and energy planning this thing and pulling the money together to put it on only for a guy that is supposed to be one of the best players there show how little he cared for the whole thing. Portnoy was rightly pissed in my opinion.
*The Duke should not be here. He's not even a real content creator. He's a guy Bob played golf with. It's ridiculous. He brings nothing to the table. I also can't imagine Big Cedar is very happy to have video of him openly smoking his pipe on their property like this.
*Trent and FP talking about donuts and then FP getting in Trent's head about cheering too loudly for Paige was gold.
*Granted we haven't see every shot but I've been very impressed with the Jet's performance so far. I was confused when they announced he was playing as he doesn't even regularly play on BDS but he has held his own.
*Jet and George should have taken the deal, for the content alone lol.
I'm very much looking forward to the rest of the series.

almost done with episode 2 and more convinced than before Kwon completely had no idea how big a deal it was to some of the guys, was just doing what the crew does in their videos. The "if I make the putt, duzzn mattah, if I miss the putt, Duzzn Mattah"...that IS his brand, he was just doing his thing. The dude in the blue shirt and Dave look even more the horses rear ends they are.
When he realized it he tried to apologize and that was no fly. Weird flex to have someone invited because of their brand, perform their brand, and be ostracized for it.
I wish this was being done on the Bryan Bros channel, maybe Grant Horvat's or somewhere like that with a ton less profanity. It really ensured outside rare occasions such as this I will avoid Barstool and Bob Does Sports. People can't even give basic conversation. It is all "f this" that's my $%^" F that. So f'in cool So stupid. Dragged the videos down tremendously for me personally.
George/Chazzy are money. Chazzy is great on his own but he is the perfect complement to George and makes him so much more fun.
Portnoy...holy obnoxiousness batman. I am self-admitted low-key obnoxious. I have always been a motor mouth. I try to rein it is and I know how I come across and routinely apologize to people on the first tee, explain I know that about myself and try to rein it in but can't...and usually at end of the round people talk about how much fun they had. I think it is because, while obnoxious, I am self-aware about it.
Portnoy by contrast leans into it. I just want to fast-forward anytime that tool is on screen, next to the screen, around the screen...I had heard of bar stool before but knew almost nothing about them other than they were called Barstool Sports. They are on my "avoid as much as possible" list now.
Joey Cold Cuts turns out to be the name of the guy in the salmon shirt. Terrible teammate. Can't stand that guy but it isn't the "love to watch so I can hate' heat, it is go away heat...another fast forward when he is on.
One good thing I will say about Claire and Lacey...they were very supportive of one another and their opponents. In a video of "f you mother fer" it was refreshing to see. I love the good chirps but not he mean spirted stuff and the brainless stuff, these ladies were a great off set.
Oh, and "playing for a million dollars"...no. No you are not. That is being divided up to where...what, one person could win 333k? that would be a lot. So tired of the "oh, you are putting for a million". The hyperbole got old.
I wanted to love these videos but you just didn't get enough time with the watchable guys and had way too much time with the barstool guys, DOD king, Garrett...blech.
