The Internet Invitational 2025

You would have to sell thousands and thousands of thor devices to get ROI for a single event.

I thought Dunkin's organic advertising was inspired. Would be curious to know those numbers on cost, ROI, and the harder to measure brand awareness.

One of the parts of this that showed it was amateur hour was no real rules meeting, a rules sheet that was just local play stuff provided by the course, and a rules "official" who doesn't even golf. Just allow freaking slope and it's a nothingburger. Add in guys like Joey stirring the pot and you've got your tempest in a teapot.

Just finished it. Wow. First time a YouTube golf video has made me cry. RIP Beef.

*Paige making the comment about how Francis has clearly never played competitive golf and then blatantly cheating a couple holes later was wild.

*Definitely looks like Malosi was up to no good. The cart cam was damaging.

*I think this was the best series of videos in the history of YouTube golf. The planning, execution, editing, drama. Everything was top notch. Hats off to Barstool.

I would think next year you have a few actual rules officials…

they did have actual rules officials, at least on the first day.
i'm not sure where they got to for the finale.

if Beef hadn't died right before this aired, i'm not sure that winning team is all that interesting. knowing what we knew made it a very compelling watch, but of all the possible players in the starting field Dahlke, Francis, and Beef weren't high on the interest gauge without some other storyline to propel them.

it's still a little unclear to me what exactly she was doing. was she moving grass in the flight path? such a weird thing to do. and she didn't defend it either, just said "i thought we could do that." why would she think that? i don't think she was intentionally trying to cheat, it was just stupid. but the rules don't care about intent, and they should have immediately declared loss of hole. Peter Finch appeared genuinely sad about witnessing it, and had a responsibility to the field/competition to speak up. the amount of exaggeration from Francis and Coldcuts "she was trampling all over the place" when they didn't even see it was interesting too. the game of telephone is alive and well.

her comment on the first green wasn't wrong. in high-level match play (which she's done, and Dahlke's done) those gimme putts are pretty much always conceded. her observation that not giving that putt is a sign Francis hasn't played competitive golf is accurate. the thing is, she probably hasn't played enough amateur competitive golf to realize that those putts aren't actually automatic. pros and semi-pros won't miss those. but i will. and Francis will.
sp sometimes you can be right and still be wrong. the mistake was for her to actually say it out loud as it just made her look petty. in the tense middle portion of the round after the dust-ups about improving the lie and using slope she got very, very quiet and just started hitting killer golf shots. that kind of mental toughness is interesting too.

As much as I didn't like Paige this last episode, hats off to her for mental fortitude. She was openly weeping and driving the ball well at the same time. That takes some serious skill to be that emotional and still hit a golf shot.

I had to stay away from this thread until I could watch this last night: ended up staying up until midnight to finish it. WOW

What an incredible show, Brad is the man and for it to end with Frankie doing what Frankie is known to do is pure comedy. Felt bad for the guy but still.

Also I teared up with all the hugs and support for Beef, he seems like a genuinely good dude.

And Malosi absolutely was cheating, and us in this thread were on to him a week ago!

Sort of underwhelming ending...just...wow.

You get paid to play golf for a living...that wasn't that hard of a shot. Maybe you chunk it, maybe you hit it thin...but how do you blade it 60 yards over the green on a chip?
The pressure put on Frankie by Portnoy along with the cloud of the cheating accusations had to wear on him and affect that shot. I feel sorry for him. I had never heard of him before this thing and he seems like a really nice guy. I hope he is able to get over that terrible last shot and still enjoy golf.

Spot on.

You’re right - they wouldn’t be able to just get away with providing the devices, they’d have to put significant skin in the game too…but I can attest that you absolutely get what you pay for with their rangefinders.

You probably get it with build quality and performance alone…but their warranty makes it one of the best overall values in golf.

I’ve always been really critical of the Foreplay guys because they get to play epic golf courses and get the latest and greatest custom-fit TM equipment to do it…and they get to do all that for a living…and none of them are really all that good at golf.

Frankie and Riggs are nowhere near the 4 hcp they claim to have - if anything, they’re marginally better than me, and I’m clinging for dear life to single-digits…and then there’s Trent…lol

But I did gain a lot of respect for all of them during this, simply because they’re by far the least scummy Barstool guys, and they have to put up with Portnoy’s ****…something I couldn’t do,

Have you seen them play a lot? Or just basing it off this tournament?

I can tell you than I’m a 5 and Frankie is a 6 on GHIN and he and I are pretty similar I would say. I drive it better than him but his iron game is very solid - better than mine.

Riggs is currently a 2.6 on GHIN and I am very confident that if he and I played straight up he beats me 7-8 times out of 10. He’s a good golfer but his swing looks ugly

When Micah called him out on the slope. I believe he was using it. After, when he realized he was busted. I don’t think he used it again, especially when making it to the semi‘s to worth risking it all.

But after watching the cart scene probably one hundred times as best and slowly as possible. It does look very suspicious.

I've seen quite a few of their videos - I probably need to give them a little leeway based on some of the courses they play in their videos - but I've seen some rough golf...lol.

I have to consider my jealously bias a little too...

I called it out with the ball in the creek that he was being shady with everything there...lol. He got called out for cheating the last 3 episodes in the row.

Easy to be a Monday morning QB after the fact, but dont forget there was $300k+ on that shot, these guys have never played for money like that.

Absolutely. I’ve seen both play atrocious golf on camera but as a single digit handicapper I’ve shot over 100 multiple times so it just happens in golf.

Watch the Foreplay v Spittin’ Chiclets video and Riggs gets absolutely blitzed and still was striping shots. If someone could’ve propped him up like a scarecrow he still would’ve shot low 70s

Absolutely. This thread has been on his scent for a while now.

Probably why Bubbie was on him too. He knew he was up to something.

If you’re Portnoy, do you invite Malosi back next year? He doesn’t have the presence of some of the bigger players, so they could skip him and be fine

I wanna see the next Good Good video with Bubbie and Malosie lol that had to be tense

That's going to be an interesting dynamic going forward, considering they're both Good Good guys.

I dunno, Malosi was a fan favorite but maybe after this year they dont. Or maybe after next year they do because content

Portnoy would invite him back because of the cheating, I think.

Of maybe I just have a really low opinion of Portnoy...lol

would be a good opportunity for a range finder company to sponsor next year and provide rangefinders for everyone that doesnt have slope. unless of course there is a conflict of interest

I feel like Mo was already being phased out of GG videos. I wonder if this is a nail in his coffin and if he’s not in much of their stuff anymore

Without GG he doesn’t get an invite anyway.

Even his own good good teammates were calling him out.
