The Internet Invitational 2025

If you’re Portnoy, do you invite Malosi back next year? He doesn’t have the presence of some of the bigger players, so they could skip him and be fine
Absolutely you do. Look at the conversation. No doubt he comes back.

Even his own good good teammates were calling him out.
I wonder if he's going to be voted off the Good Good island because he was a Bad Bad boy.

I think it would be a loss for GG. He's the most charismatic one besides scharff who is very annoying. I'm pretty low on GG content although they seem nice enough

I didn’t think this would end up being as good as it was but wow. Some serious reality tv vibes there in the last episode. Never would’ve guessed that Kwon would be completely overshadowed in the final episode.

And my god the ending and the last few min following Beef around 😭

Yeah, I don't watch a whole lot of their stuff...I've never been able to figure out their dynamic.

Mo should double-down on it and work with a range finder company. New "Maslopey" technology.

Kwon absolutely gets an invite back

Just my 2 cents, 1st I like Paige and she can really play(actually played with her in AZ a few years ago), but she was a Pro and knows the rules, Mo surprised me, def looks suspect, they say play golf with someone to find out their real character. Brad is a US Am, professional golfer and obviously a stick and heads and shoulders above everyone else there. Frankie with that bladed chip was the biggest choke possible I would have never thought he would F it up that bad.

This is so true. I’ve played with ones in tournaments that I have called out/caught cheating and refused to sign their scorecards because of it. One I busted for moving his ball mark on the green twice cost him a spot in the US Am.

Golf mimics life.

what a great series of videos. say what you want about the companies, but they produced compelling and high quality content. that has to be the best youtube golf series ever.

it's hard to separate reality from edited reality, but i thought paige and malosi came out looking so bad. the money and the pressure seemed to bring out the worst in both of them.

my heart breaks for frankie. his chipping has been bad for a long time, that video with kisner is one of my favorite. as someone who has had the short game yips for going on 10 years, that hurt to watch. he should have played a bump and run, or even putt it. he was basically 1v1 against beef there, and it's not like beef's short game was looking much better. frankie will never live that down.

Yes Malosi and Kwon get invited back next year.
Yes they need to brush up on actual rules knowledge
I think they are going to invite the other Barstool guy that is a giant douche

In regards to some of their handicaps. Yes I think some of them have an inflated ego/vanity cap. We see a lot of their rounds that are scrambles so they are doing things that they probably shouldn't on the course. The GG guys I know generally play the tips so that is part of the issue as well as their course ratings are inflated. They can pound the ball no doubt. I don't think them putting a bunch of stroke play strictly by the rules content will get a lot of views.

who do you all think doesnt return?
No way The Duke gets invited back. Daltoosh was barely involved. Yandle didnt seem to get much screen time. Sketch was an odd choice to begin with. I could see at least 10 not getting a second chance

Honestly I feel like a lot may get the invite and not want to come back. Paige especially. Too much like competitive golf which many in the YT space didn't want to participate in. But hard to turn down the opportunity for that kind of cash

How could you turn it down though? So many eyes on some of these creators that wouldn’t otherwise be seen

Exactly. I think Brad said on twitter he gained 100k YT subscribers over the last 3 weeks. That’s an insane increase

I think there’s some who won’t return because it wasn’t enough like competitive golf. I think Paige wanted a larger audience to see how good she really is at golf (which she is), and that she’s not just a thirst trap…but I would think the drama in that last round killed her desire to come back - or it will at least take some convincing.

But there’s room for other, in a lot of cases better, content creators to play in this event. If they’re really interested in the growth of the event, I think they need to de-Barstool it just a little.

I am surprised that JnA Golf didn't get invite this year but if Good Good goes in on this again then Good Good Girls and JnA have a shot to get in next year. There will always be a Barstool presence with the D list golfers.

Wesley Bryan, Grant Horvat, and Peter Finch would like a word.

this is right on.
the planning conversation will very much be whether they need to lean on the golf, or lean on the entertainment. Portnoy even made the comment at one point "I like my toys." I forget who he was referring to, but that's not someone there for golf ability. and you've got the Duke wandering around openly doing drugs they have to blur out and causing the course marshals to yell at them over pace - when the course is one of the major sponsors. that's pretty heavily on the entertainment side to the detriment of the golf side. on the other hand, we're not watching this to see a tour event. how do they find the sweet spot where it's still personality driven without falling off the cliff?

I thought Dunkin's organic advertising was inspired. Would be curious to know those numbers on cost, ROI, and the harder to measure brand awareness.

One of the parts of this that showed it was amateur hour was no real rules meeting, a rules sheet that was just local play stuff provided by the course, and a rules "official" who doesn't even golf. Just allow freaking slope and it's a nothingburger. Add in guys like Joey stirring the pot and you've got your tempest in a teapot.
I dont know who any of those people are, but the Dunkin thing that makes sense and I know their CMO decently well. They have a number to spend and the outcome is ROI on items that cost $1.
You’re right - they wouldn’t be able to just get away with providing the devices, they’d have to put significant skin in the game too…but I can attest that you absolutely get what you pay for with their rangefinders.

You probably get it with build quality and performance alone…but their warranty makes it one of the best overall values in golf.
This is going to be a sad state, but from the ones I know pretty well, build quality means nothing, unless you mean the quality of the contract.

I think the mistake the PGA Tour made with the Creator Classic was trying to make it too much like a Tour event…

I think they can make this event more competitive and more watchable simply by keeping out the trash golfers and let the good creators do their thing.
