The Naked Gun 2025 Remake

Fine. I'll do it.

I will day.....the OJ son not saying anything at the end made me laugh

My first reaction was wtf, why. Watching the trailer, it's not as bad as I expected.
the end of that trailer though:)
I legit LOL'd. That was good.

Hard to make movies like this these days. Skirting the line of funny without being too offensive. All the great satires of the 80's/90's were a different era, for sure.

I have hopes with the end and all the kids crying at their fathers except for OJ's kid.

Okay I just saw that Akiva from lonely island is involved so I have higher hopes on it being funny enough

Nothing at all. Pretty soon we’ll have an Airplane! remake.
Joey, do you like movies about Gladiators? Have you ever been in a Turkish prison?

With all the easily offended folks, how could a remake even be funny?

I guess I am out on a limb thinking Liam Nelson can make the same comedic turn that Leslie Nielsen made.

I don't have a ton of faith but it could be fun. It also could be a complete disaster.

I absolutely love Leslie Nielson and the originals (Airplane also)

i do think that Liam Neeson knows what he is doing though. I am optimistic. I'm not sure you can top the originals but Neeson seems to understand the movies he's making and make them good.

I actually think these will be good

I have faith. Based on my understanding Leslie Nielson wasn't a comedic actor at all. I could see Liam handling this.

I also don't think this is a sacred movie. It is super funny and could be an easy fuckup. Also don't really mind it since it is fart and dick jokes.

If you've got a good answer to the question: "Why" then go for it. Some remakes (e.g. "Thing") were better the second time around, even though I will never forget James Arness as a berserk giant carrot.

Otherwise..........no.

BTW: Will it be "in color!"?

Nielson didnt do comedy until "Airplane" i believe. Which is why the Neeson thing kinda makes sense. Neeson did Shakespeare and etc until he started doing action movies in his late 50s.

But he has some comedy chops, he did some funny stuff on "Funnyordie" early in that websites existence. I also think he isn't too hung up on himself. He could do a pretty good job.

Like i mentioned, these movies are in the pantheon....so remaking them is hard. But Neeson has as much chance as anyone to succeed

The kid giving Kareem the business about his defense is pretty funny.

After watching the trailer it's teeeeeeeeeeeeeeechnically not a remake...it's a reboot. Which still offends me on some level but at least it's not like them doing the live action How to Train Your Dragon or Lilo and Stitch or Lion King or

I’ll admit the trailer was pretty good. But I’m not sure that I’m intrigued enough to want to watch the movie.

Eeeehhhh not feeling it

I’m sure I’ll see it eventually. But I have passed on a lot of the newer remakes.

Leslie Nielsen = GOAT

Same. I was not expecting to like it.

It wont be. Cancel culture will have a field day with any attempt at a joke.

The Naked Gun without Leslie Nielsen is like Dirty Harry without Clint Eastwood.
No need for a remake, but it's easier, safer, and less creative to do this.

Geez ... so stupid. Why ruin a classic? Is Hollywood that hard up & have no new ideas anymore?
