The Official 2024 NFL Thread

We have 10 days off now and hopefully this is the case, some guys get healthy. We had guys out there playing defense we just picked up 3 days ago. The fact that we won this game with that patchwork says what kind of team this is. As Dan Campbell said after the game we are built for this.
Campbell reminds me of Daboll’s first year with the Giants. Making gutsy calls, standing by those decisions, and winning close games. Looking forward to the last four games of the season.

They are quickly becoming the team to root for. I want the Texans to win all the time, but I find myself leaning into what Campbell is doing over there.
Ironically I was rooting for Houston all last year even with a buckeye at QB haha. They are going to be a force when healthy too.

Right now, I am a little bothered with their schedule. They play 3 games in 11 days against the Dolphins, Chiefs, and Ravens. The NFL & their safety and integrity is falling short for me, and I can't take them seriously.

Seemed like they made it a game. After that first half I wasn't optimistic.

I look forward to Dan Campbell ruining your chances by going for it on 4th down 8 times in the NFC title game.
It will be against GB so it will turn out okay.

I'll be OK if the Lions make it, honestly. Just anyone but the Vikings or Eagles and I'll be OK.

Lions at least play tough football which is fun to watch.

I kind of agree with you here on scheduling. The byes this year are ridiculous as well. Part of the reason is the lions had a week 5 bye and no break, also other teams are on a bye this week. Ridiculous.

Best Thursday night game I can recall in years last night.

I think Thursday night games need to go away. We don't always get a great product and no way these athletes are ready to play professional football 3-4 days later from the previous game.

But when we do get a good game, like last night, it's fantastic. I love stand alone games, but if Thursday goes away due to scheduling then overseas games need to as well.

They made it. They clinched last night.

Detroit just find ways to win. They are impressive this year.

Detroit vs Phila will be a great game, but at Detroit assuming the lions get their defensive players back that would bode well for them.

Vikings don’t seem to get the hype even with their 10-2 record, but they do have one game against Detroit that could determine everything for the NFC playoffs.

Vikings have gotten pretty lucky. I'm thinking the lose at least 2 games before we play them. Philly looks good.

Tough to look at this list and see Goff and Hurst so far down.

After last night’s win, Goff deserves some MVP consideration. He has been impressive all year.
Meh he started out hot and was in consideration until he threw 5 int's at Houston. Don't get me wrong, love the guy but he's not league MVP.

missing Doubs last night was a big factor. facing a high-pressure pass rush it's hard when you don't have your primary possession receiver. thankfully Jacobs' running could take advantage of that pressure and they hit on a few long passes to Watson.

You mean like last year? When he did it 3 times?
i was referring to IN the Super Bowl this year, which they definitely didn't do last year.
;)

these new-era Lions are easy to root for, as long they aren't playing the Packers. if it's not Green Bay i absolutely want Detroit to win the Super Bowl. they're such a great combination of skill and grit. and no offense to Lions fans, but for me this is at least in part because they've not been relevant for essentially my entire life, which means no opportunity to build up any dislike similar to how it is with the Vikings and Bears.

this is funny, though some of the arrows should go both ways, such as Packers and Vikings/Bears.
who hates the Lions? no one, no one hates the Lions.

Have a feeling Kirk cousins is in for a long day against this Vikings defense

7 games going, let’s go!

Dolphins strike first

Quick start for Atl vs Minn.

Him or Allen. But Goff for sure has to be in the conversation which would have been crazy talk a couple years ago. So happy for him.
