If you have your stick in front of player to try to break up the play and the player is moving forward you don't fall backwards if it is a "trip"
Tkachuk lost his own footing, dove, and the refs fell for it.
I'll take the point but I'm not ok with only 3 OT points in the last week. At least 1-2 of these needed to be OT wins.

Stars lit the Oilers up tonight, 7-2. Avs are up 3-0 on the Kraken at the end of the 1st, so we won’t pick up any ground. Wild lost to Flyers, but in a SO, so only 1 point gained. Central Division is tight!
Got all the help we needed last night. 1 point behind Boston now for the final WC. 2 points behind Detroit, NYI and PIT. It's going to be a wild last month in the East
Should be fun. Play some good teams coming up, points will be at a premium.
Caps with the great win last night. Charlie Lindgren stood on his head & made some quality saves to keep them in the game. Including 5 straight slappers from Tage Thompson
Caps played good D. Kept everyone to the outside & above the circles. Good goaltending by Lindgren as well. They had like 30 shots & won 60% of the faceoffs. So on paper, looks like Buffalo should have won

the length of suspension should be a reflection of the injury. Max five games is total BS.
That's such a gross hit.
After knocking out Crosby in the Olympics as well.
That could honestly be the last time we see Matthews in a Leafs sweater.
The game on March 30th between the Leafs and Ducks could be a brawl.

This is a great speed/angle of his intent on the hit. Leans into it up until point of contact with left knee.

Twitter is absolutely roasting the leafs for not having any kind of response to the hit in the moment.
The locker room is lost there. I doubt there is anything.

yeah, it is lame. And he's definitely earned the indifference as the Captain of that sinking ship.
But that hit would have closed the barn 50 years ago. I miss when hockey had jam.
Kind of a shame 5 games is max ban. I get that it's in the CBA but you take a guy out for rest of season on a dirty play and 5 games feels awfully light.
I see Coach talked about the lack of a response from the 4 other players on the ice.
