The Official 2025 NFL Thread

I actually forgot yesterday there was still football lol....these 2 week breaks need to go away.

In regards to the Bills hiring, i also was a bit surprised. But i wonder if it was much about having to decide if you wanted Brady as part of the team or not. I think he did a decent job getting the most out of that offense without Josh always having to be superman. When it mattered they put up 30 against one of the best defenses in the playoffs.

If you hire Daboll you lose Brady. So if Brady and Allen are pretty tight. I guess it makes sense. I think the "getting over the hump" stuff can be a bit overblown. You don't do it until you do it. The Colts kept Anthony Dungy as their coach year after year and eventually they got it done

Fitzgerald and Brees might honestly be the most affected by Bill getting snubbed for the Hall. Both are deserving to be fist ballot Hall of Famers (well, one definitely is) but they will forever be the two that were somehow worthy when Belichick wasn’t.

This entire year and most of last, Bills fans have said Brady was the issue.

I have heard a lot of that, i didn't think the play calling was that bad. I know they were trying to play less hero ball with Allen.

As you've said too, they had a very good O-line, and Jimmy Cook led the NFL in rushing. Their receivers largely were bad, but they got enough to score like 26-27 / game like Brady used to do with the schmucks the Pats had.

I just never really thought the offense underperformed. For the guys we had, they did pretty well. And when it mattered the Bills scored.

Bills fans say a lot of things that don’t make sense. Daily. After being surrounded by them for 8+ years, I really think the Pats Dynasty broke their minds. I don’t really blame them.

The bills largely sucked during the Pats dynasty. I don't think any Bills fan with a functional brain thought that the Pats were standing in our way as we trotted out Ej Manual and JP losman.

I wasn't a huge Pats guy but it wasn't because I was a Bills fan. The Bills from 1995 to 2017 were basically a joke.

Brady and co didn't kill us. We would have lost to anyone

I think it’s not about Brady himself but the process they went through to hire him. They fired McDermot, who was well respected.

Beane and Brady must be linked together. Then all this news comes out and Beane looks horrible in all of it. So naturally people are going to criticize the Brady promotion as well.

My Brady comment was about Tom Brady....meaning the Pats dynasty was kind of irrelevant to Bills fans. We were horrible those years

Any real bills fan hates the Chiefs more than the Pats, at least lately.

Lol I tried.

Are Bills fans ready for the Drake Maye Josh Allen rivalry that’s about to start?

I am, i actually really like Drake Maye. As mentioned i don't really hate the Pats. The Bills were so bad during their dynasty there was no rivalry. Pats had way more of a rivalry with the Colts and Broncos due to Peyton Manning.

I think a Pats / Bills rivalry would be great. Maye seems like a really good dude. I have a lot of friends who live near UNC and they said he was well known in town, just regular guy....would show up to local coffee shops in sweats and say hi to people. that sort of dude

That’s not the general opinion of things around here in Western New York.

And I’ve liked Josh Allen since year 1.

I had to convince people he was actually a good QB and I was validated multiple mvps later.

My podcasts bring him on interviews from time to time. Always a great guest.

He also crushes a golf ball.

He's always been pretty special. His first couple of years his stats weren't good but he found ways to win games. I liked him from day 1. He played very hard.....and his mistakes were often stupid, but correctable (especially the careless fumbles which he still does here and there)

His second year they went into Houston in the playoffs and basically won the game , they ended up losing on a 4th down conversion from Deshaun Watson that was snapped 3-4 seconds after the play clock expired. It was the first in a long line of frustrating losses that really weren't his fault. Point was he has always done his part from the beginning

You know your football. I look forward to our banter about the AFC east.

I can't wait for this sunday.

Even being a Pats fan I have great admiration for Josh Allen. He is a heck of a player and if you had asked me last year I was hoping Drake Maye would turn out like Allen.

The Rivalry between the Bills and the Patriots is Back and that makes the NFL better.

Why is everyone disrespecting the Patriots the way they are? According to all the Prognosticators it seems Seattle's Defense has become the 2nd coming of the Steel curtain in the 2 weeks since they won the NFC.

They are not as good as Houston or Denver but for some reason they have been elevated while Ignoring the Patriots top 5 defense.

I placed a silly bet on Milton Williams to be the MVP after he gets 4 sacks and a forced fumble!

All of my media consumption is predicting Seahawks victories.

I mean. It’s possible but no one I know has picked patriots lol.

I also consume a lot of media. It’s a great matchup from both sides of the ball schematically. Players will have to execute.

Honest question - when was the bills/pats rivalry ever a thing? One of those teams have not been good at all (for the most part) during their matchups the past 40 years.

I think the reason everyone may not be picking the Pats for this game is because not only are they playing a top defense, but also one of the most efficient offenses this year (not the case with Houston/Denver with stidham).

Wow this is so bad - I know he had some red flags but he may never play in the NFL. Such a promising pass rush…now, not so much.

Likely won't be seeing him in the league next season.

Agreed. At least with a falcons jersey on. What an absolute boneheaded move.

I’d be surprised if you even see him in the league again, I imagine every police organization would riot against that
