Got out for our walk around the lake.

Pretending to look innocent. Her ears are always inside out...

Did your pet get featured in your Christmas card?
Absolutely! Our Christmas card was what made me realize we may have a problem...
  • 2017 - one dog
  • 2018 - one dog, one cat
  • 2019 - one dog, two cats
  • 2020 - two dogs, two cats

I just signed our dog up for a day of doggy daycare on Wednesday. I feel like such a goober doing that for a dog :ROFLMAO:. We haven't had a ton of chances to socialize him with other dogs though and figured it was needed.

Ours goes once a week. She loves it. She gets to interact with other dogs and people and it’s about the only chance she gets to run free without a leash

Our old girl has had some eye problems recently. She had a corneal degeneration with an ulcer. We took her to an eye specialist and treated her with antibiotics and eye drops. A month or so later and the condition worsened. So we had to decide on a graft to repair the ulcer, remove the eye, or do nothing and hope that the ulcer did not rupture. The ulcer was causing considerable pain, so really our only options were some type of surgery. At 16.5 years old, surgery was a concern.

We ended up having the eye removed this past Thursday. She's doing remarkably well, much better than we expected. She's a tough old girl.
Two weeks have passed and Ecko is doing great adjusting to life with one eye.

Recently discovered that this one has the ability to turn her ears inside out without moving. She’s a weirdo.

I've always enjoyed checking in to this thread, unfortunately today is a day I always dreaded was going to come. This afternoon we had to put our Lexie down, and it completely broke my heart. 2 weeks shy of both her 14th birthday and 13 years from when we rescued her from a shelter in Indiana. She was a massive member of our family and even a dog who is a THP Event veteran. I'm sure one of her happiest memories was relaxing/napping on the Tour Van while eating some cider doughnuts. She also celebrated with Team NY & Brian post Regional Rivalry, which included continuously dunking her head into the cooler at the hotel party. She was a great girl and one that we will miss so much.

So tonight we raise a glass to toast our girl Lexie Pickles.

I’m so sorry Dean. She’s a beautiful pup. Thinking of you and your family and will raise a glass to Lexie.
