You jerks have me wanting to mess with Photoshop again. Once upon a time, I used it a lot.

Use light room. Good enough. Haha good choice with the a6500 for vlogs, kids, product reviews etc.

Been playing with the 6500 this morning. I’m a fan already.

Just back from Singapore and Hong Kong. HK is one of my all time favorite places to shoot. If I have my way, I'll live there again someday.

Brought the ol' Rolleiflex 3.5F to China... great stuff, that's a big wall behind me.

If all goes well I’ll be taking this to France for a few weeks to recreate some Atget photographs. Slowly uploading pictures from China on my website : Daniel-Duarte.com

Great shot. Love the light.

I spend a lot of time in Asia, and China always brings me back

Posted by my thumbs.

It was my first visit and I absolutely loved it. I was fortunate enough to bring 14 of my students for a school trip. One of the perks of the job.

Anyone here still shooting film? I run a high school program with all photo 1 classes being 100% analog. It's an amazing place, love what I do for a living.

I do! But I think you already knew that. I've got a fridge full of Provia 100f, Ilford HP5, & FP4, Tri X, and Portra 160 and 400 Neg in 35 and 120.

At what level do your students get in to advance dark room techniques?

I do, out of my F6...mostly from my stock pile of Velvia 50 and Astia 100F.

Wow, an F6! A great camera that never saw its hey day. I used to shoot and F3 and an F5. I still have the F3 because I love the High Eyepoint finder
Yeah, it is a great camera. Completely over looked because of the D2H.

I had an F5 and a F100, didn't need to keep them all when I went digital way back when, the F6 stayed just to keep a film camera. Mostly because of the amazing matrix meter and viewfinder. Still love taking it on hikes with some Velvia 50 or shooting portraits with the Astia.

I really did love the F5 as well.

Funny you mention the metering as I have now gone as far as to remove the batteries from all of my film cameras and just rely on my sekonics. I feel I get much better overall exposures when I can spot EV and see the fall off before I even look through the finder.

Not gonna lie, I also have a candella, which doesn't see much use any more but still a great tool to have if you can remember the conversion!

Photo 1 is all 35mm... a mix of Arista EDU, Trix400, and HP5 depending on how my budget flows etc. Also, RC prints.

The following year they can elect to take Advanced Photo and are given a choice of medium, despite this choice most choose film.

There they borrow from my personal collection... Pentax 67, Rolle 3.5F, Chamonix 4x5, Wehman 8x10 (although I never really offer them that, that's only for the really select kids I trust)... then they print larger, Fiber paper (usually warmtone at 11x14).

Question for you all - I'll be shooting a golf tournament at the end of August. Not sure what the shotlist is to be yet but I'm thinking shooting in the midday sun is going to be hard. Any advice? CPL? ND 3-stop? Or just plain UV filter? Most of the shots, if not all, will be of the golfers, vendors, booths, etc.

What is your cameras native ISO?

If you're looking at shooting somewhere around 800, you might consider using an ND grad. It will help you with your sky exposure, and create a really nice look.

Will you be primarily shooting from down the fairway back to the tee box with a telephoto lens? If so, I don't think you'd need any filtration.

If you're planning on using wide lenses, you might consider an N12 or N18 just to give your photos less depth of field in order to create a more "Sports Illustrated" look.
