Stuck a 4i into the very muddy false front, pitch to 6, and a 2 putt for a very unceremonious par, and a Spieth-like 68.
The heavens finally parted over SW Ohio!! I caught a great deal at Indian Ridge up in Oxford, OH at 1pm. First time playing the course. It’s going to be a bit chilly but lord willing no rain. I’ll live post the round later on today.
edit - I found out how I caught such a great deal. The course just called to let me know it’s walking only today. My bag isn’t necessarily conducive to walking but going to give it a go anyway.
edit 2- I decided to call around and Twin Run in Hamilton will be letting carts out and my caddie (wife) wants to go soI’ll be playing there instead.

Welp, this is how the day is going.
I played bogey golf on the front nine, thankfully only 1 double. I’m making the turn now. Time to dump the back and start fresh. The sun is out and it’s warming up a bit 🌤
Par on the dog leg 10 after a nice tee shot I was able to fly over the trees. Par on 11. Caught a nice ball off the driver on 12 that went 260 in the fairway (long for me). I was able to squeeze in a bird after a 100ish approach. I’m convinced I need to figure out a way to get more distance off the tee consistently. Par on 13.

Finished up a bit ago. I had a nice tee shot on 17 that left me a little over 140 out then hit my best 7i of the day to 6 foot out. Birdie time!

I blocked my tee shot right on 18and didn’t have a shot in. Laid up in the fairway and shot #3 in then two pitted for bogey.
I had enough good shots to be happy with the round. Front nine was tough weather with the wind and colder temps but the wifey and I had a good time.

17 sounded fun! Love that you had the wife out there with you. Looked great despite the wind and the little bunker swim.
She had to drive back to the car while I was teeing off 5 to get blankets.
So in retrospect maybe not the best day to invite her but we had fun.
I ended up swimming in to get it then tossing it behind my head to play from there. Hopefully the golf gods don’t frown on me.
Waking up at a course always makes for a great day!
