I am on the opposite side of this equation. I would rather have left to right dispersion be better and give up the front to back. My course doesn’t have a ton of forced carries so having something be a few yards shorter on carry that rolls out is ok.
If I go east and play the mountains where I am, forced carry is a way of life. The 18th hole at my resort course from the back tees is a forced 265yds. That’s the age angle.

I'm plugging in TPT for my round today. I'm not sure what this says about the test other than feeling a level of confidence that I'll be able to hit some good shots with it this afternoon.
As you said above based on the sim data you could really play any one of them.

I think the only way you’re going to decide is to put them in play on course. And then once you decide you’re going to experiment anyway :ROFLMAO:

If I think back to last weekend you have a very balanced tempo swing and your miss is a draw that just doesn’t turn over. I feel like you’re going to end up in whichever shaft feels like it does the work for you, and if that’s the TPT so be it. A few yards less but not having to work to hit it is an acceptable compromise to me.

Played the TPT on course today. It was nice. Kept it in play and mostly in the short grass. There were a couple big pulls but they didn't veer too far offline. I didn't lose anything right today, which is something that has been happening from time to time with Powercore when I don't time the kick and flare one. It's obviously helpful to only have a left miss with it instead of seeing it both ways with Powercore.

It might be time for me to admit I just don't get along with UST shaft for very long. This always seems to happen: they will start off really well, and then maybe I get too used to it and get back into my 'stock' swing and they just stop working well.

I wouldn't rule out the UST shaft just yet, although I also know you have more reps with it than just this specific test.

If I read the last line of your post though, you've hit the nail on the head: you shouldn't be changing your stock swing just because of a shaft. Find the shaft that works with that stock swing.

You saw firsthand that two-way miss I had with the powercore. I flared several of them out to the right but then also had a couple of big lefts also.

However, there were a couple that I really squared up and bombed. And thinking about those makes it hard to walk away. When it's good it's really good. But it does take a special swing.

Very true. Based on those facts I would say it's not the best shaft fit for you. There's enough things to think about during a round of golf, trying to time up a shaft shouldn't be one of them

I'm not talking about misses. I'm talking about consistency. If you're willing to deal with the ball always going left just be willing to play it and set up for it then it works.
I honestly can't figure out where you're getting this take from the data given to us here.

Interesting results. The powercore definitely was launching higher with more spin that was hurting your distance. I wonder if the extra spin was impact location or purely higher delivered loft.

I think the Ventus results could be misleading because you said if you included a 5th shot it would have made the dispersion much bigger.

centered strike on the data, they've all went the same distance, and even with a high spin rate more room for overall improvement and gains. The gains are very limited with the other two

I do this as part of my living, and talk about it constantly with a wide variety of people and personalities, and I'm still struggling to figure out how you mean what you're saying.

You're saying that the strike average is more centered with the Powercore and therefore has the bigger upside? Despite the worst dispersion by a good margin and the worst overall flight metrics?

Impact location average on powercore was the most central strike at dead center vertical and only 2mm toe side.

I'm going to add a few different data points and I'll put the all 5 shots with the ventus in also.

explain the worst flight metrics other than the spin? Thats what I am not seeing.

What launch monitor were you using?

Assuming it is accurate, it is interesting that the Ventus caused that much lower of delivered dynamic loft. You were also hitting it slightly higher on the face - all of which led to a better spin number and a lower launch.

Trackman IO.

Everything about it implies that the strike location average you're focused on is just that, an average of some lesser strikes that just happen to add up to near center. I say that because of the launch, strike, spin, dynamic loft, and spin loft versus the others.

What I see is someone who missed left and right with it, and either couldn't time the face as well or missed more on the face than the average strike would imply. Probably both. If you look at it versus the TPT, which had similar swing and ball speed, smash, peak height, etc, the dynamic loft is also similar but launch is down and spin loft is up. Not ideal. Again that could be an average playing tricks but the dispersion backs it up. Likely the most open face shot of the bunch and possibly tied for the most closed. Likely the widest variation in most metrics. It looks like a combination of timing issues with both face and strike to me considering some of the numbers. Obviously @That post is better than the average player, nothing is terrible, and it's a small sample size. It's the weakest flight group of the bunch though.

So it just seemed like an odd one to make a case for, and I was trying to figure out what you meant about upside and where you were getting that.

I'd be curious to see if there was a high strike flat flyer or two in the Velo+ data too. Or perhaps misread throwing that group off a bit.

With the smaller sample size as you mentioned what occurs over time? Does that balance out. I’ve played with him before. He isn’t a massive high spin player

I've played with him too, and I've definitely seen his wipey miss. They're highly attracted to fairway bunkers. Lol

There will always be some leveling of things with a larger data set. It usually builds more confidence in the differences between each though too. It's fun to pull someone's best shots and show them the rest. It tells a lot. PC would suffer on that one as well.

I can see where the strike average could give false confidence. It's a really sh**ty fitter trick to show someone a visual of a center average strike when they know they basically drew a 5 pointed star around the middle with the actual strikes.

He could play any of them and probably figure it out. Based on the data we have here though most fitters would move on from that shaft for him.

Ventus Blue gets the start for my round tomorrow.

Hope it kicks ass for you
It's been so good for me most of the year and then over the past month I got out of sequence with it. I'm hoping the time away will help bring some magic back.

I was going to try my Ventus Blue TR5s today and forgot to grab it when I left the house. I have been playing the UST PC blue and do see a bit of a two way miss at times. I don’t have any current launch monitor data though.
