A pair of golf shoes autographed by Tiger Woods apparently went for a little walk Saturday night or Sunday morning.

The shoes, which were up for silent auction at the Principal Charity Classic and on display inside the clubhouse at Glen Oaks Country Club, went missing Sunday.

Angela Gambardella of Eagles Classics, the sports memorabilia company that brought the shoes to West Des Moines, said she'd noticed they had gone missing shortly after lunch.

Gambardella was working on a police report Sunday afternoon when an official phoned to say that a pair of Tiger Woods-signed shoes - valued at $1,450 - had been dropped off at will call.

"So whoever (took) them," she said, "brought them back."

Gambardella said the shoes were in the same condition in which she'd remembered them Saturday, with one exception - a mud or blood stain on the shoelaces.

"I don't really know exactly what happened," said Gambardella, who did not file a report with West Des Moines police.
