Titleist GT Drivers – GT2, GT3 and GT4

Like @R-Yang13 and @amarkabove have stated there are reasons not to chase 10k. Trade offs occur that can and do cause diminishing returns. The GT2 being the most forgiving in the GT line might still not give you the best results. I was in the TSR2 going into the event fitting and assumed that I would get best results with the GT2. Quickly into fitting that assumption was confirmed to be wrong. I got much better flight dispersion and distance with the GT3.
Try a few different models and different heads in that brand. Fitting is king.
Agreed. I was fully prepared to accept a more forgiving head than my TSR3 and was anticipating a move to the GT2 in my own fitting. Didn’t take long to figure out the GT3 was the better option for me.

For whatever reason last night the bolder face alignment really stood out to me, and I noticed that it seems to make it a lot easier to get things squared up at address. Had a pretty good swing day last night, and the speed of the 2 showed up. That peak height issue seemed to be a bit of a 1-off, and it was pretty constant around 110’ last night, I noticed a few shots that were lower spin, around 1700-1800 RPM, but I’m thinking some of these issues could be the balls at the sim place. I am really happy with this driver - my tee game has never been better, the TSR was no slouch, but this GT is definitely an improvement in every category.

Weather and a crisis last week at work have kept me off the course so far in 2025. Do while I’ve been unable to get out it has given me time to think about the GT3 driver and the rounds I’ve played so far.

I’m still amazed at how well it relegates side spin not that I won’t leave one open now and then and push one off to the right. When I do they are generally still in play and just down the right side of the fairway of just off the edge. Of all the holes I’ve played with it I’ve only lost balls ob right on 2 holes. That is on a course where on is abundant.

Distance is improved with the GT also. The distance and the confidence the GT3 has given me lets me take on some lines I didn’t once think possible. The distance it has given me off the tee has caused me to rethink lines on a few holes where on left comes into play on dogleg right holes. One hole in mind is my 15th. Plays as a horseshoe par 5. Has 2 bunkers pretty much straight away off tee. Both bunkers guard ob left. Aim at right bunker with a little cut and your money or that used to be the case. Even if you pulled it a little at worse you would be in the bunker with an easy lay up shot. Now not so much. The added distance now the ball flys the bunker and lands ob in someone’s backyard. The GT has enabled me to reach all of our par 5s in 2 that was never even a possibility before Titleist and THP put the GT in my bag.

The group I play with often in the afternoon have started to become interested in the GT line. One has already purchased his very own GT2 another is waiting for a spring fitting. I think there will be more that give Titleist a chance during our early spring fittings.

Shout out to Stefanie and all her crew at Titleist for the work they do and did on the GT line. You nailed it.

I find that with the GT2 my bad left misses have pretty much disappeared.

Are you guys playing standard length? Anyone shorten theirs and add a heavier weight? How did that affect the club feel/balance.
I was fit into the GT3 at 1/2" shorter than my TSi3. I saw a gain in distance of about 5-10 yards but much better dispersion. Tough to judge how the shorter length feels since the club design/material is different, but I did not have any issue with shots (other then making my usual miss hits). The shorter length did not move my typical heel shots closer to center.

On my GT2 I play a 44" shaft with no additional weight added. I find that just simply shortening the driver makes me more confident with it and I've seen way better in play drives with it.

I never shorten any club. Especially with reduced taper grips you can always just choke down for control. Let the shaft out ti KILL!. No need to change weights for me.

Had the day off work today and was able to sneak out to play a quick sim round this afternoon. I will continue to sing the praises of this driver after today’s numbers of 57% FIR and average length of 275 yards. Just such a great combination of speed and forgiveness with the 2, and it’s really performing for me. I’m back on the Stack workout train for the remainder of winter/spring, and last season I had some struggles in the first part of the year with an inconsistent strike location trying to figure out the newfound speed that was reined in with the pretty forgiving TSR2. When I was able to put good swings on the TSR, it was good, but it’s not nearly as good as the GT. The TSR was still highly ranked in driver sales late into its 2-year product cycle, and I’d be very surprised if the GT didn’t follow suit.

The addiction was too much so I opted for some simulator time today. Tee shots were solid and I really appreciate the forgiveness of the GT3; considering that the GT2 was what I thought I’d be fit into with my variation across the face, I am seeing consistency with the GT3 as I work on my swing.

Tough adjusting to the sim tee which is higher than I’d like, so a bunch of shots high on the face (the crown finish is holding up nicely…don’t ask why please) were sent out 80-90% of the diatomaceous that I’d like to see. Miss hits are finding the toe and unless I am opening the face, a small draw or pull is my current shot. Still quite high (100+ feet) but a bunch of shots found the fairway.

Seeing the numbers on screen, I spin the ball too much but it isn’t the 3500 rpm fun that I used to see. High 2000’s on steep shots. Good hits feel incredible off the face and no shots off the center found long grass. 7/11 fairways with the driver. Played the Ocean course at Kiawah.

Glad you got in some swings. Our weather will cooperate next week for a few rounds. After that it’s going to be simulator for me also at least for a few weeks. Can’t wait to get the GT goodness back out on course. Do you find that your swing is altered indoors.

Yes, in that I have trouble with alignment on a simulator. A few swings that felt like pulls found the left fairway and others that felt great were right rough. I should bring my own rubber tee, too, since the simulator tees are higher than my typical tee height.

First of all, sorry for long layoff in posting in here. But like some others stuck with winter, I've gotten a few simulator rounds in with the GT3 and I continue to love what I'm seeing. I love the data from the sim to really see where my misses are coming in, and the big issue for me right now across the bag is an OTT move. Resolves to about a 4-5 O-I path on driver when I don't do it correctly. The good news is the GT3 is cutting the spin on those to still be under 3000, so they still go pretty far as long as I make decent contact. My swing speed is down a little with winter, less time to do SuperSpeed work with the baby, yada yada yada, floating around 105 most of the time and getting up to 109-110 if I really move it. This driver is keeping me comfortably above 150 ball speed except on the very worst swings, and I'm still scaring 160 on the good ones (which are also the less O-I path ones). When I can move the club a little faster, I can probably find that 165 number I've been chasing.

So I have some swing work to do to get path where it needs to be, but even with that the GT3 is paying dividends from what I'm seeing. When path is better, it's going to be deadly.
I find that with the GT2 my bad left misses have pretty much disappeared.
This is true for me with the GT3 as well. Most of my misses are right and a little cutty and about 10-15 yards shorter, which I can live with. The left misses I do have are lower launch and spin but with plenty of speed and maybe 15-20 yards left of the target. That's the O-I swing path result when I close the face, vs the cutty trajectory when I don't. If I can get path closer to 0 it's really going to open things up.

The GT3 is really good at limiting that right miss. Making it still in play. I find that it does reduced distance on those occasions but the distance is still very acceptable.
I too suffer from a little out to in path. The GT3 has definitely tamed the misses.

Was hoping to get some sim time with the GT yesterday. That time was spent working with irons trying to correct that out to in path. Strides are being made. Those changes combined with the GT will be great for my game and scores.

Do have a round scheduled for today. More on that later this evening.

Can we get an update on how this is working from a couple from our experience?

Sorry for late entry was planning on giving this a proper review once the season started for 2025 as I live in mass so I only had 2 months with the new GT driver. Here’s a recap of what my season in 2024 was like: lots of balls going wayward off the tee 250 ish 4 left. At the time I got fitted for the PXG 311 gen6. Before the Titleist event I was scared to break out my driver to the point when I went down to SC to the world amateur event I left it in the house so I wasn’t tempted to use it. Then I got fitted for the GT4 and it gave me confidence to hit driver again. Before my season ended I got about 8-12 rounds in. My handy cap lowered from 23.5 to a 14.3 ball seemed to find the fairway more frequently. So no lost strokes off the tee. I have the GT4 as it’s the smaller head of the get line up . It’s so far out of all the drivers I own the by far is the best one (pxg 311 gen 6, ping 400 max, ping 425). It’s a beast I would strongly recommend trying it out if you’re looking for a new driver. I will post more once my season starts up again

Keep them coming once you get back on the course

Holy ****! I'd be praising this driver to no end if I dropped my cap almost 10 strokes in 12 rounds!

@JB Definitely trust me I’m itching to get back out. I’m too much of wimp to play in 20 deg weather and snow. My goal is to reach single digits. I believe that the gt4 could get me there.

Went from high 90’s to low 80’s

That's insanity dude! More than eight posts are needed in this thread for that kind of performance!!

My thread was road to 15 handicap

You have to remember though, you're reviewing these clubs for the masses, not just those on THP. If you're talking about your driver in that thread, the amount of eyes on that decrease EXPONENTIALLY compared to the eyes on this thread from forum members and those online searching out information. People coming to the site looking for info on the clubs will not be and will definitely not know, to look in to a "random" handicap thread that doesn't mention anything about the driver in the title. These reviews aren't only for forum members. We represent a sliver of the overall traffic on here

Quick Look at todays round from driver perspective. It’s been sometime since I’ve hit driver or played a round of golf. Couple weeks is ball park estimate. Has a chance to take a few swings at range prior to starting round.

1st hole a little pull down left side. Long but left. Good thing the group allows 2 off 1st tee. Next ball is piped down right center. Working on a little swing mechanics that transitioned to driver fairly well. Only lost on ball right today which was still in play. Couple balls that were hit down right side still carried to a really good distance compared to the guys I was playing with.

The best part of the day was one of the guys I play with showed up today with a shiny new GT3. Seems they maybe paying attention.

More to come in the next few days as we have a couple days of nice weather. Will also be reporting back to see how it works with the new swing mechanics. From the looks of the driving today it’s going to be just fine.

My biggest surprise is how well the GT3 preforms on mid hits or my swings with face a little more open than it should be. Club never fails to impress.

Good to know. Excellent point! Will post on here when my season starts. New to this it wasn’t till the titleist experience that I learned how to post pictures full size. So still a rookie to THP even though been a member since 2019
