Titleist GT280 Mini Driver

Will be interesting to see how it sits behind the ball off the deck. The main factor if I decide to try one or not, as I don’t want it to be a one trick pony.
My friend said it was easier to hit off the deck, than the BRNR. But I find that club super easy to hit off the deck.

My initial testing in the sim, not side by side, is that the GT280 is indeed a bit easier to hit off the deck, and looks much better behind the ball.

I just hit this, incredible feel and sound. I love the size of just a large 3w. This moved up in the ponder list.

I couldn’t resist and picked one up this morning. I like the size better than the Elyte.

FINALLY getting some real time with this one after some absolutely sh***y goings on in my real world.

Anywho.

The Tensei Blue 1K 60S isn’t the best fit for me, but, I’m making it work for now.

Visually, it’s stunning. The shape is pure Titleist and it hides the face depth crazy well at setup. Personally, I prefer the bigger look in my mini drivers, but this has been a fun new visual journey for me.

Biggest thing? It’s surprisingly low-ish spinning for me, and with REALLY good ball speed. It’s about 12 yards longer than a traditional 3w for me.

The sound is impeccable. The look is impeccable.

Titleist crushed it with this one so far.

Completely agree. For the people who truly want a 3w replacement, this is it. The easiest of all the mini drivers to hit off the deck

Ive found it to be the lowest spinning. It's alot of fun to hit but wont make my bag. Mini driver for me is truly a 2nd tee option and for tee only there are better options

New Toy. Only have a few days to practice/play with this but thinking about replacing the 3 wood with this for the Bag Boy Championship

I forgot to take a picture before hitting some on the turf so it’s dirty

It feels like the whole line has been surprisingly low spin, but not so low people have launch issues. I’ve got a lot of things I want to find a way to try over the next few months, but getting one of these in hand to test against the GT2 13.5° is high on that list.

So the shaft snapped 2 inches from the top of the grip after my 8th swing.

It was the tour ad di.

I do have a diamana wb in my tsr2+ so I’ll just swap the shaft (was planning to swap the shaft and game the diamana wb anyways)

Very happy with the looks of it. You hit it well. Looking forward to putting a few swings on it soon.

Ordered :)

Tensei Blue 65 Stiff, nothing too special and lofted up/closed just a bit.

I will do a fitting recap soon. It was really fun! This is going to be a real weapon on the course.

While I do prefer a larger mini like I mentioned yesterday, I have to say, this might be the best all around mini I’ve ever owned/tested/reviewed.

The power continues to surprise me. Spin is lower than the Callaway Mini’s for me, slightly higher than the TM’s, and a lot less than the PXG. Speed though, is the highest as is the efficiency.

There’s just something about it that works SO well.

I’ve left the standard shaft in it for now, but I think this weekend I’ll install something in the 70’s weight and see how that feels next week.

Don’t say this to me!!

It’s pretty much exactly what you’ve been asking for. 🤣
I have hit it some. I had convinced myself I didn’t need it.

I do think it is probably more 2 wood than mini driver. But that is really what I want..

Eh. I think it’s a mini, the more I hit it, the more it checks all those boxes.

It’s just a mini on ozempic.

Well. Crap.. now I have to hit it again..

I can’t wait for someone to bring one of these back on our playability policy, or even just trading in. Regardless I will own one.

I got a chance to play a few holes with the GT280. It's a great as a 2nd tee club. For me it fills in the gap for a reliable 250 - 260 carry. The deeper face and larger 280cc head gives a bit more confidence on the teebox. It has a great feel and sound off the face.

I was previously gaming a TSR2+ 14.5* that has a 200cc head. I hit the TSR2+ about the same distance as the GT280 mini driver when hitting the center but the mini driver is the better club off the tee. For my swing the launch is better with the GT280 vs the TSR2+. GT280 is more forgiving and I can still hit it off the deck if needed.

The TSR2+ is great club as well but this GT280 mini driver wins out because of the added confidence I have at address. I also don't hit into many greens from the 250-260 range so the off the deck with the GT280 isn't that relevant for me.

@Jman

I don’t need it, I don’t need it, I don’t need it…
