The Driver
One word commonly associated with Titleist is “consistency”, and this description fits them in various ways. In the golf ball segment, Titleist is highly regarded for the consistency demonstrated by the Pro V1 and Pro V1x over the past 20+ years. On the club side, their reputation revolves around tighter tolerances that help golfers achieve […]

The driver is going to get all the attention as @ddec mentioned but don't sleep on these. The polished face is really nice and these look really good behind the ball. I've hit Titleist fairways before but I have a feeling people are really going to like this version.

I was a person that didn't love the last version, but loved the TSR version. I think the GTS marries what I liked about TSR into the more modern club head in the aesthetics.

Very interesting that they found that when given the polished face that some players starting hitting more down on the fairway wood due to seeing more loft better.

These definitely look nice.

Great read @ddec. I heard you hit it really far on the SkyTrak - brag a bit 🦅

Great article @ddec.

The difference in shaping and weighting from the GT2 to the GTS2 is very intriguing. Like the swappable weights, and like that they kept the 13.5° even though they have a mini driver now. The GT2 variant of that club was a lot of fun.

And the L Cup is great for those low strikes and it looks like they’ve improved it.

I think I am considering a 21 degree GTS2 7W. I don't need it, but why the hell not.

This is just sick! I need another part time job!

Per @Hawk request. I did have some time with this beforehand and grabbed some quick data both off the deck and from the tee. The setup I have is the GTS2 15 degree with the Tensei Blue shaft.

Had the GT2 for a bit and we didn't really jive. I didn't love the deeper face on that, it just wasn't a total profile that I loved. This one is a bit shallower, but still not as shallow as my Elyte FW. The silver face....yeah I dig it. Definitely frames the ball nicely.

Ok here's some quick numbers. Back is still bothering me so the swing it's as effortless as I'd like right now, but I feel like I was able to catch a pretty good representation of what this club can do. First batch is off the deck and the 2nd is off the tee. Some real bright spots baked within. The one I really like to highlight is from the tee batch and it's shot 6. On the surface, nothing to brag about right? That was a really low strike. Ball speed was high, spin jumped a bit, and launch was low. But to still get 219 carry out of it impressed be quite a bit. Terrible contact, but that L-Cup seemed to pay dividends there.

I borrowed a GT3 and had it in play for a round once last year. I liked the way it looks and setup, hit it pretty well too. During my fitting we did a 5w based on my current setup. It was fun to hit, checked all the boxes for me. Also, as I mentioned, I kind of liked the polished face quite a bit.

That's really interesting stuff. Your ball speed off the tee is really consistent and I love to hear about low face success in a fairway wood, because that's where I tend to live if I'm missing.

Awesome writeup!

I am really impressed with how intentional the shaping seems to be from a depth perspective on these heads. They look great.

I'm going probably loft this guy up to 16.5 and give it a real chance to win that spot in my bag. I'd love to tinker with the 7W too and have a head to with the OPTM X.

Notice any left/right bias in the neutral setup?

What a great piece @ddec !

Man, the move back to the silver face I absolutely love more than I thought I would, you really can see more lofted address and that makes me wanna grab a nine Wood something fierce

if anything maybe a touch left, but nothing major or something that can't be tuned out by flipping the weights or messing with the hosel.

Yea, good point with the weight swaps.

I'll be watching as your season progresses for sure. We have some similar likes in fairway woods.

Shaping on the 2 and 3 looks quite unusual, at least from the pictures on the website

i love this point in reference to the silver faces making the loft more apparent:

"When they saw more loft, they started hitting down on the ball more and just struck it better overall."
