I'm sure this topic has already got a lot of coverage, but I noticed at the serial number of my T100 irons (5-P) is only etched on the 6 iron when cleaning my gear this morning. (I ordered a 4 iron individually later which has its own serial.)
I've done a bit of Googling already and it seems off-the-rack gear has only a serial on the 6 iron. I note my irons are standard lie/loft except the shaft and grip were custom as per my order to Titleist.
(For a premium brand, I notice Titleist are quite **** at producing information such as FAQs/KBs (knowledge base) and so on for the benefit of consumers, eg a page on 'how to find a serial number', and seem more interested in producing spin for PGA Tour PR machine - the Apple of Golf.)
I suppose given my 'custom' order was uncomplicated, Titleist just got a set of stock heads and fitted my shaft and grip. I suppose this is why the serial number for my irons is only on the 6 iron?
