Tour Edge Exotics E723 Driver Review

Not as much roll but but that's not a bad thing. I was hitting 230-240 w/ 20-30 yards rollout. Now it's closer to 255-260 w/ 10-15 yards roll out. More total distance by at least 10 yards and it feels a lot more reliable.

I couldn't replicate my Saturday results on Sunday. 2/7 FIRs, ended up on adjacent fairways a couple of times to save my score. I had a couple of bombs but in general the swing wasn't there. That's golf 🤷‍♂️

Still getting decent distance off of bad pokes though which is great, and knowing that days like Saturday are possible is good enough for me.

Indeed. That is definitely golf!

I'd take that latter result all day, every day. Really cool. I wonder where it's coming from (speed, spin, launch, etc).

I'm interested as well but I don't really have a way to obtain data. I can get a few stats such as ball speed and peak height from Top Tracer, but we're working with range balls there and data may only be accurate as to telling the difference between the two - i.e. the ball may not be going 135 mph but I can assume that it's at least consistent enough that if one club says 135 mph ball speed and the other says 130mph that there is a 5mph difference. Whether that's coming from swing speed or smash factor would still be unknown though.

Another good day with the E723 yesterday, 6 of 9 fairways that I used driver, and 3 of those 6 were a good bit longer than average for me. The forgiveness of this driver continues to impress me, as I had a few toe side misses that were not really punished. My last time out I noticed that I was getting really good results on swings that I was really going after it, swinging for the fences a few times with better than expected results. So yesterday I decided that every time I hit driver I'd go all out, I was getting nice straight mid-high ball flight, my misses weren't far off the fairway, and like I said, better than average distance.

Captured lightning in a bottle again. 3/5 FIRs with the 2 misses being barely misses and very playable. Literally had just pulled out the driver for the first time yesterday and told the story about getting my new driver from THP to a buddy and two randoms we got paired up with for men's league, and then this happened:

Hole #8, Par 4, 408 yards, 1 handicap hole -
It's downhill and you can kind of cut the corner on the dogleg so actual distance may vary, but what I know is that I had 70 yards left on my approach shot so that's 338 yards off the total hole distance from my drive. It's hard to notice when I don't hit it square, as long as I put a good swing on it the result is money.

That's a bomb!

Probably my last anecdote until I get actual data, but I won 1st place low-net at a tournament on Sunday. The front 9 is not very driver friendly so I didn't really use it, 0/1 FIR with the E723 and shot a 45.

Back 9 I caught fire. I have to give a ton of credit to the driver because I was constantly in position to score. 5/6 FIRs on the back with it, 6/6 pars on those holes. Shot a 36 - my lowest 9 ever. The one miss was just off the right side of the fairway and still set me up nicely, I left a ~6 ft birdie putt short for a tap in par. I've played this course more than any other course so I can confirm that I have never hit that many FIRs before nor hit them as far as I was on Sunday.

This club has completely won me over. I may have ended up playing just as well with the C723 but I'm just glad the E723 has left me with no remorse or wondering "what if", because I was deciding between the two until the end.

Another good outing for me and the E723 today, hitting 6 of 9 fairways that I hit driver on, the three misses were pretty bad, but all on me. I am still getting surprisingly good distance though, with a couple of drives that were the longest I've hit in some time. A foursome in front of me let me play through on the 6th hole, the toughest hole on the course, and with them watching, I piped one right down the middle, 258 yards, leaving a 9-iron approach to 12', and a two-putt par. Then on the 9th I outdid that one, granted, with a bit more roll, but right down the middle and .......

That's the hardest shot in golf :drinks:Well done!

What kind of grass is that?

Good question. The greens are Blue Grass, but I couldn't find anywhere that said what the fairways are, and I've never thought to ask. Now you have me curious, so I'll try to remember to ask when I'm there again Friday.

Well, it had to happen sooner or later, and Friday I had a pretty poor day with the driver. It wasn't a terrible day, I still hit a few fairways, and my good swings got very good results, there just weren't very many good swings.

On a more positive note, the single that joined us said he was going to be looking for a new driver soon, so I let him give the E723 a try. He was pretty impressed, and put the ball from his one and only swing with it almost right on top of the one he hit with his gamer, just a few yards past it. He's planning on going in for a driver fitting soon and I let him know that the place he's going to carries Tour Edge. He said he would definitely be mentioning it to his fitter to include the TEE drivers.

Love showing brands to people that they might not have tried. Good looking out @OldeDude

A better day yesterday with the driver, 6 of 9 fairways, and two that were pretty long for me. This has been pretty consistent with the E723, I hit more fairways with better than my old average distance, and the occasional really long one (for me). The forgiveness across the face is so good, there's not much a club can do for a really bad swing, and I have my share of those, but I'm getting way better than expected results on some poor swings. I might try one more shaft if I can pick up the one I want for a good deal, but if not the UST Elements Chrome has a home with the E723.

Question to all. In its standard setting, does the E723 face sit open, neutral or closed? Also, in its standard setting, is it at all draw/fade biased or neutral flight? I know it has a lot of adjustability, but curious about its tendencies.

To my eye it looked a bit open in the standard setting. I moved the shaft right away to the Upright setting, something that worked for me with previous TEE drivers, and was recommended during a Tour Edge fitting several years ago, which makes it look square at address. I hit a natural fade with driver, so I'm not really the one to answer if there is any directional bias. I hit this one either pretty straight, or with my normal fade, and have been hitting a high percentage of fairways. That is with the adjustable weight moved towards the heel, or "Draw" position, which is standard for me when I have a driver with that capability.

This is certainly getting repetitive, but another very good day with the E723 driver yesterday. I played a much more driver friendly course, hit 8 of 12 fairways that I used driver off the tee, two of the misses were less than two feet off the fairway, and the other two were still very playable. It's getting where I really don't have anything new to say, I've got this thing setup where it is working so well I'm not going to change any of the adjustable settings, but I will definitely report on how a lighter weight shaft works out in it if I'm able to get one.

I'll be watching this thread closely to answer any questions, but probably won't be posting as much unless something changes in how the driver is working. :drinks:

Feeling the same way about the C723 driver. It is working well and haven’t felt a need to change anything after the first week or two of making some adjustments just to see what would happen. Tried one other shaft and the stock Mitsubishi AV Blue 65 stiff shaft was a bit better so have stuck with it. I did put a little bit of hot melt in the head to tone down the sound a bit.

Have played about 50 rounds with the Tour Edge C723 driver now and it has firmly cemented a place in the bag

The E723 7 wood that I’m reviewing has been insanely easy to hit since the first shot to the last. Really like it!

Just received the Tour Edge C723 13 degree 3 wood that I ordered on my own, with my own money, and hope to get it out to the course to try later today.

A couple of more outings with the E723 driver, and still hitting a pretty high percentage of fairways. Yesterday, on a pretty driver friendly course, I hit 9 of 12 fairways, a couple of pretty long drives, and a couple of poor swings that came up kind of short, but still in the fairway. The three fairways I missed, two were really good swings with good results, but holes that I almost always miss in the same place, I guess they just don't fit my eye, so one I always miss left, the other I always miss right. The other miss was a terrible swing, enough said about that.

I still have the UST Elements Chrome shaft in it, still set at 10.5*, and the Flight Tuning System weight set to the heel side "Draw" position. This is working really well for me, but I'm sure I'll try other shafts when I get a chance.

After a horrendous showing with the C722 3 wood, somebody tell me why I should give the C723 driver a chance?

C723 thread may be better to chat but here's my sales pitch:
-Lower spinning head while still having some forgiveness around the face
-Very neutral stock ball flight for a players/low spin head. Lots of adjustability to dial in spin and ball flight.
-Ridgeback alignment is an underrated feature IMO

I can't speak to the C723 driver, but the E723 has been really good for me. It provides lots of adjustability, and is probably the most forgiving driver I've ever hit. With the right shaft in it I'm getting better distance than my previous driver, I'm hitting more fairways, my misses aren't as punitive, unless I just put one of those "nothing would help that" swings on it, and it seems to do better when I really go after it and swing hard, which is always fun.

I thought I'd bump this one back up to the top. I just ordered another shaft for the 10.5* E723 Driver, a Fujikura Ventus Red 4T 50R, which is one of the no upcharge options offered by Tour Edge, so others thinking about this driver might find a little input on it helpful. I've pondered giving this shaft a try for a while, I have it in my C723 5-wood, and am getting along with it way better than I thought I would. I've just recently been having success with lighter shafts in fairways, so thought I'd give a lighter driver shaft a try. I'll post my thoughts on this combo once it gets here and I get some time with it.

The E723 was the loudest driver I tested today.

I don't doubt that! It is the one negative I've had with it, but the performance has far outweighed the less than ideal sound. I like how Tour Edge spins it as a "Powerful" sound.

So how did you like it other than how loud it was?

Umm, it’s priced nice. :ROFLMAO: It wasn’t for me. I gamed the original EXS, and have hit every iteration of diamond face since. I like the previous drivers better personally. Kyle did say this was the best performing head for slow swing speed players they had in the shop.
