Off Course is back this week with a fantastic show and this is episode 227. Hosted by Dan Edwards, each Friday he gives you a deep look into the world of golf and equipment in a way unlike any other podcast has done before. Today, we have a special treat as both Jon Claffey and Matt Neeley from Tour Edge, join the show and we discuss the brand new line just launched from Exotics.

It wouldn’t be Off Course without some tangents, but Dan, Jon and Matt dive into many topics including 20 years of Exotics and balancing innovation with design and marketing. This show has a lot going on and is one you will not want to miss as Tour Edge Exotics goes Off Course.

Episode 227 is here and Dan, Jon and Matt discuss the following topics.

Walking Through the 725 Lineup
20 Years of Exotics
Isolating Tech for C & E Series
Tour Adoption and Engagement
Balancing Innovation and Marketing
And so much more

You can listen to the show right here, Apple Podcasts or anywhere you do your listening and downloading from. Search for the Hackers Paradise and make sure to subscribe so you never miss an episode. After listening, come back over and drop us a note below on what you agree and/or disagree with from the episode. If you get a chance, drop us a review wherever you listen from and let others know what you think of the show and/or channel.

Off course is now available in video as well. Tune into the THPGolf YouTube Channel and jump into the video and watch the interaction rather than just listen between Dan and his guests each week.

Looking forward to this one once I sit down at my desk.

Going to fire it up right now as I head to work.

Looking forward to watching this one

Really enjoyed this show. I find the two of them together, getting a bit of marketing with deep R&D stuff pretty darn good.

Listening now.

Gonna listen to this on way to Social Security...gotta have something to look forward to. 😞

I really do like Tour Edge as Midwest company. Knowing something is made a couple hours from here is pretty cool.

Good explanation of MOI, the 10k concept, and how TE had to dial in the design.

Wow. Visible Ridgeback went away because of how much 3-4 grams matters to weight distribution and performance. Also, very interesting to hear about the balance between club design for performance and what marketing demands in terms of aesthetics and visible tech.

I'm kind of surprised that the new Diamond VFT design actually reduces weight on the face.

That is probably my favorite part of the show. Listening to Matt and Jon discuss the design vs marketing demands.

You just don't get that type of insight all that often.

3-4g up that high in the head is massive, and explains a LOT about what I saw from the last C model

The hybrid discussion stands out for me here too. Hybrids falling out of vogue is a damn travesty. At the same time, I think I know why I like TE hybrids so much right now. I didn't really connect the dots to the Adams and Nickent lineage.

You can tell they are pumped about the new C model.

@Hawk live updating the listen is one of my favorite Friday things hahahahaha

Incredible.

Thanks for tuning in, everyone!
Sometimes I make myself wait 5-10 minutes between posts 😅

The 725 rundown is great, but this is also a great listen from a club design perspective. I feel like I learned a few things.

I liked the frank sound discussion as well. I just don't think E723 worked from that perspective in today's market. I actually did run into people that liked it, and I know that some of the Champion's guys did as well, but it was a hard sell to the masses.

Have about 10 minutes left and I'm really enjoying this conversation. First off, CEX sells, so they got that right ha!
The iron discussion is obviously one part I really tuned into. I've been a C guy in the last two lines, and had the HL ironwoods earlier this year. So them talking about introducing the X allowed them to really hone down and separate the C and E lines into their prospective genres. I never really thought about like that.

Can't wait to hear if @jlew becomes part of Team Rhombi

When he started talking about the changes gave them almost 7 grams to play with, that's huge to an engineer.

I thought that iron discussion was interesting as well.

I know me, and I know I would struggle to give the X a legitimate shot, but I have a feeling they are going to perform.

When they talk about trying to make headway into a younger demographic, I'm not sure that's the iron that will help. But I bet those are going to be crazy fun for those who do get them out on the course. For me, I'd stick to the C.

I know drivers get all the attention, but I also liked the FW conversation. FW's were my first real intro to Tour Edge with the XCG-5.
