Do you think you could compare what it feels like off the driver, irons and putter to any other balls you've played?I have 2 rounds in with this ball. A 9 hole from a couple of weeks ago and then got in 18 over the weekend. I'm actually quite impressed with it.
@Jman mentioned the color tint of it. Yeah it's white. Nobody does white as good as Srixon IMO so comparing it to that would be a disservice. At times it wasn't the easiest ball to find in the grass up here, but that's also a sign of the season.
Nothing crazy in terms of distance. But do feel like I'm seeing some nice action on the greens, and it feels really good off the Ai One insert in my s2s putter.
As for durability...the first round I played, I must have nicked something on the ground because it looked kind of scuffed up, but it didn't feel it. But the marks wouldn't wash off. Sadly it lives in a pond now so it might actually be clean at this point. But I also played the same ball for quite a bit on Saturday, including banging one really hard off a tree and the cover was perfectly fine. No clue what happened during my first time out, but I haven't experienced it again.
Because capturing a sliver of the overall ball market is still a lot of money for a smaller company like Tour Edge.My biggest question is WHY? The market is already WAY over saturated.
And it's also "free" advertising..... every time someone looks down at the ball and sees Tour Edge, it's an impression.Because capturing a sliver of the overall ball market is still a lot of money for a smaller company like Tour Edge.
I would have thought trying to capture a bigger share of the market they are already in would be more important.Because capturing a sliver of the overall ball market is still a lot of money for a smaller company like Tour Edge.
I would think their focus is competing more with the DTC brands than the green grass monoliths - at least for the time being. As was mentioned before, there’s an absolute boatload of balls being sold every year. There’s room for another maker.I would have thought trying to capture a bigger share of the market they are already in would be more important.
It just seems to me that the Ball market is way over crowded and from a cost/benefit analysis it seems like getting a ball that people will actually use is a long road to travel.
Without Tour Players playing your ball How much do they expect to get??
I’m not sure how much more market share they can realistically get in the lines they are currently in. People who play TE seem to be really into them. Everyone else seems to not know they exist.I would have thought trying to capture a bigger share of the market they are already in would be more important.
It’s not like they had to spend $100m to build their own manufacturing facility. They are contracting out the actual production of the balls to an existing facility. Other than some upfront setup costs for their molds and probably a pretty substantial minimum order the cost to launch a new golfball is probably overall significantly lower than we think it is.It just seems to me that the Ball market is way over crowded and from a cost/benefit analysis it seems like getting a ball that people will actually use is a long road to travel.
I have only used it around the green and the spin is really strong.30mph gusts should qualify as windy, so you could say I had a chance to play this in the wind. I thought it did really well. I was able to keep wedges low and and spinny. I teed the driver down a bit and the result were very consistent in terms of distance, height, and dispersion.
I like the ball. Worth a try.
The spin on the green is extremely good. Feel on long clubs is nice. No brainer at $40.I have only used it around the green and the spin is really strong.
Glad to know its solid off the tee as well.

Finally, right? It's my sweet spot when it comes to price and like that you have options out there that are different. It’s kind of funny. The $40 ball market is becoming crowded with good options. This is definitely one of them
I think these are going to surprise people when they put them in their hands. Its a quality release. Finally, right? It's my sweet spot when it comes to price and like that you have options out there that are different.
I played this yesterday again and am a fan. Probably my only wishlist item that isn't there is that I think the alignment aid is kind of small. I like something a little more prominent these days, but that's just me.
The test for me is always "would I actually buy it", and I would. I hate buying golf balls.I think these are going to surprise people when they put them in their hands. Its a quality release.
Hmm. I'm not 100% sure there's a direct comparable. For those of you who have played the ball, where do you think if falls in comparison to say Titleists line up?
I was kind of secretly hoping that that would be the comparable ball because that's what I play.Hmm. I'm not 100% sure there's a direct comparable.
In terms of ball flight/aero and green side spin, I'd probably lean towards Pro V1. It's a little softer feeling with full swings imo.
Yea, if you're in a firm ball like the V1x it will be a pretty big departure, but you should see some appx parallels.I was kind of secretly hoping that that would be the comparable ball because that's what I play.
Well, looks like I'll have to get a box and see how it goes.Yea, if you're in a firm ball like the V1x it will be a pretty big departure, but you should see some appx parallels.
Not a huge investment at least.Well, looks like I'll have to get a box and see how it goes.
But, why? Having to buy golf balls just means you’re playing enough golf to generate the need.I hate buying golf balls.
Spiked by the alignment on the Tour Soft. But I did use the line on this my last round and it was fine enough. Finally, right? It's my sweet spot when it comes to price and like that you have options out there that are different.
