Tour Edge Exotics Golf Ball

As one who is not married to any single ball, I’ll buy a box as soon we cross paths. I’m eager to see hiw they play. And if they do play anything like the ProV1, they ought to be fantastic at that price.

TE has done an amazing job. My concern is that there is so much new to show in irons and woods that the ball could be overlooked. Buyers only have so much attention span. If I was a rep for these guys I’d schedule two meetings. Do the ball and accessories separately to give them a through presentation. I say this as a compliment to how good all of this newness is.

Hi THPers.

@AuzzieMatt spoiled the surprise, not really, TEEm Tour Edge 2025 will be testing a dozen of these balls, for me, beginning tomorrow.

Thanks to Tour Edge and THP. What a great surprise, I’m really eager to give them a try.

Ok, 7 holes today (with this ball). Not too much that I can say as I still getting back into more golf - after roughly 5 weeks of travel/disruption.

Only played 9 today but 2 were long carry over water par 3s and I was not hitting the ball well at that point - so did not use it on those holes.

What I can say is this, it seems to be responsive on the greens (putting), I like the feel (limited though it may be for me). I love the spin around the greens - not 1 hop and stop (for me) but it's not rolling out a ton either - limited testing on those shots today. I like full swings with irons into greens - I am not a long hitter, had a deceptively uphill 155 into the green into a full club wind. I swung the 6 iron (first good iron shot of the day), and it was pin high about 4ft from where it struck. I would ordinarily have used a 7 or a softer 6 course conditions depending.

Feel overall - to me - again limited off the tee, but I would say harder than ProV1 and softer than the ProV1 X. I had only decent drive - and was satisified with the ball's accuracy - it did not veer right or left all day, distance is an unknown - as the course still pretty damp and the wind on the one good drive was again in my face - I would say a solid 10 mph wind maybe a bit more.

Resilience - I had one shot that while it did not land on the cart path it did bounce onto it and then roll/bounce 'softly' about 5-8 yards - I saw no damage at all. I did notice a slight discoloration later - maybe from landing on a leaf or dirt or? And promptly drilled the next shot straight into a creek that I never ever hit into - so 11 balls left.

Overall - from today.
Putting - good
Spin into greens - good (for me, but more testing needed)
Feel off Irons, well struck - very nice, and distance and spin all as expected/hoped for
Feel off driver, well struck - very nice, distance TBD at this stage - but ball did not move far left/right - so I want to say wants to go straight - more testing needed here.
Scuffing/resilience - nothing negative to report at this stage.

I'm now going out on Sunday for a round, if the rain holds off, so these new nurries will be in play for the round.

Yeah, it's not what you saw.

New slang in certain parts of Australia for golf balls. Probably derived from what you saw...balls.

I mean it makes sense

Played the ball/s in todays round.

I really like the feel off the clubs, driver, irons and putter. As has been said, in line with the ProV1 I thought.

I'm not a fan of the roll out I get on approach shots vs the hop and stop I get with the ProV1.

IF I could walk into a store and buy them off the shelf, I think they'd be a pretty good ball. But if I have to buy them from TE online and pay $10 for the shipping, then I'm about $9 less than custom numbered ProV1's shipped to me so I'd stay with Titleist.

You make a good point.

With so many balls, of which a lot are really good for maybe most of us, price and convenience can be deciding factors.

Going out again tomorrow on a drier course (hopefully). Eager to resume ‘normal’ and see what these balls can do.

From the release article and the comments so far, this ball sounds similar to the Wilson Triad. Has anyone played both balls to comment on that?

I have not, I’m only familiar with the Wilson staff model ball.

As a TEEm member I also got a dozen balls a few days ago, and I was able to head out for 9 holes today to give them a shot.

I normally play the Maxfli Tour so I felt like this would be a good apples to apples comparison. The weather was perfect for fall golf today - 65 degrees with just a slight breeze, nothing that I felt would have any major impact on ballflight.

The good - the ball feels great off of all clubs. No issues anywhere, and I really enjoyed putting with the Tour Edge ball. Greenside spin was about the same as the Maxfli Tour for my swing, so there wasn't too much of an adjustment at all. Flight off of irons was great, and I actually flew two greens today... by a LOT.

The bad - I was around 8 yards shorter off the tee. Is that a deal breaker? Not necessarily given the increased yardarge off the irons. However I had more offline balls with the driver today than I've had in quite some time.

The ugly - I was expecting this ball to float. It does not (kidding, kidding!)

Here's my ball after 7 holes. I lost my first on the second hole's hazard to the left of the green, and it was just a bad swing on my part. I know not to miss that side of the green due to how it funnels balls into the water... and that's where I missed. You can see a scuff from a 54* wedge shot on 8, I played it through 9 with no apparent issues.

I purposely didn't clean it so you can see how mud & dirt react on the cover. All in all - it's a decent ball. Until it comes in yellow, though, I don't think I'd consider it over the Maxfli Tour.

I think Tour Edge knows their market, and this ball is shooting right at it: me and my 95mph driver swing. Softer compression for distance of the tee? Check. Still a unrethane cover for around the green? Check.

This year I moved into testing balls with better compression for my swing. Most recently it's the Maxfli Tour S - which I really, really like. These seem very comparable to me based on the description: slightly softer three piece balls with a urethane cover. So, you have my attention TE.

I'm very intrigued to hear about the testing from all of you TEEm Tour Edge guys as it moves forward. And as we move into simulator season up here in the north I'll probably order a box to compare it to my current options.

On price, Dick's offers a bulk discount with 4 boxes of the Maxfli Tour S for $120. Free shipping starts at $100. The TE does not have a bulk discount at this point so it stays at $40/box with free shipping at $150. Dick's/Maxfli is coming in there with a 25% price advantage. That's meaningful and Tour Edge would need to either really outperform the Maxfli or find a way to match pricing.

I'm going to reserve judgement and see if I can get out solo some point soon and do a side by side comparison with both the Tour Edge as well as the Maxfli Tour. I do think they're very comparable based on my use of the Maxfli Tour and how things went today, but I definitely want to get some more time in with the TE to see how things go.

I try to do similar testing, rotating balls on each hole, not perfect, but seems to help. Tomorrow work likely be the TE ball and ProV1

Came home from vacation and had a dozen of these waiting for me. Took a day off for jetlag and to relax, so walked 9 and made sure to try this ball out today. I will get a better 1 v 1 feel once I can get on the sim.

My initial impression is this is a solid ball and I would have no problem playing it.

Tee - Solid distances. Lower launching. Sounded good.
Approach - Distance were consistent to other balls I've played. Felt on the firmer side. Plenty of spin, but less than the Chrome Tour X I've been playing.
Short game - I really liked it around the greens. Used it with my 56 on plenty of holes and the distances and spin were what I prefer. Easy to get height quickly and nice rollout.
Putting - Rolls true and feels great. Nothing noticeable.

I like the ball so far and can't wait to dive in. At this price point and knowing Tour Edge's other products, I have high hopes for this golf ball. Driver distance and spin will be the biggest factor I want to focus on as the other areas work for me based on today.

Glad to see some folks get these on the golf course.

I have been quiet with these - the last 2 rounds were really not particularly well played and not much to offer.

The ball feels really good in all aspects to me, I am not sure on distance, but playing again tomorrow, and hope that I have a bit of game so I can offer up some beneficial comments.

As to the distance comment, like @russtopher noted, I think (maybe) I am shorter off the tees, and that might make sense as I am at the age with a slower swing speed that I need spin. Of course, the course I have been playing is still rather soft so it could easily be the missing roll out when the ball just hits and stops inside 10ft or less from where it hit.

I can say it holds up quite nicely, played about 16 holes with one ball before it was lost, and the first hole it hit a cart path but the ball and I pressed on - it does hold dirt but cleans off nicely and easily - like many balls do, I have a photo of the cart path mark - seems ordinary for what it was (the mark that is) and did not seem to produce any negative effects.

I finaaaaaallllyyyyy got these out on the actual course for the first time extensively and honestly….

They’re solid.

It was 48 when I teed off, so def on the chilly side, but I really didn’t feel like I was lacking in any department. Good flight, good consistency, good feel. Fun.

Anyone get this ball out in high winds to test the aerodynamics story yet?

Not me. But when i do, I’ll gladly share. I will say while i feel shorter off the drive, i don’t feel s lot shorter or blown off line with rest of the bag. And it could be from soft conditions as well. I had one round is 10+ mile winds, i used an extra club into the wind, as i ordinarily would.

Coincidentally, I was looking for this thread to make a post on how it worked yesterday, and I was playing in 15-20 sustained winds.

Long story short, I thought it did really well. A few standout situations got my attention.

Our 6th hole is a 420 yard par 4. If I can hit it far enough there is a hill/speed slot that will leave me with an approach inside 150 yards. I was pretty much resigned to not making it to the speed slot because the wind was coming into my face, but somehow I ended up about 5 yards past the 150 marker. I have (somehow) started hitting a pretty push-draw again, so I know that impacts spin, but that was one of my longer drives on that hole this year.

With irons a par 3 comes to mind. Again, direct into the wind and I was estimating about 1.5 clubs of hurt, so I took an 8 iron. I definitely saw increased height, but the shot hit my number perfectly and showed no exaggerated curvature. Ended up being my best shot on this hole in 2025. This level of stopping power is pretty impressive for me with an iron as well. I know wind played a part there.

It’s rainy. I’m stuck inside. I couldn’t resist.
