Underrated golf clothing brands

I own several Maelreg polos and recently bought one of their qzips. The polos are well made, comfortable, fit nice, and have held up really well. Several of them are over 3 years old and still in my rotation. They also have a huge variety, whether you like prints, stripes or solids. They're plenty breathable, I wear them in the AZ summer heat and they're as good as, or better than, some of my other "big name" polos.

I've only worn the qzip a few times but like it a lot so far. The fit looks good, it's comfortable and plenty warm enough for cool mornings even though it's light and non-restrictive.

I don't mind paying more for quality if there's an obvious difference, but I'm not a label wh*re and won't pay $100 just for a name when I can get something just as good for $25. I'm not out to impress anybody with "who" I'm wearing.
I've been wondering about this brand. Is the material basically the same as something you'd find with the major brands? Is there something you could compare it to specifically in regards to fit?

I just went and looked at tags on a few of my polos:

Maelreg: 92% polyester, 8% spandex
Tattoo Golf: 95% polyester, 5% spandex
Johnnie-O: 93% polyester, 7% spandex
Foot Joy: 88% polyester, 12% spandex
Puma: 94% polyester, 6% Elastane
Roundtree & Yorke: 92% polyester, 8% spandex
Travis Mathew: 70% polyester, 23% cotton, 7% spandex

Is there something you could compare it to specifically in regards to fit?
Of the shirts I currently have, Maelreg fits about like the Johnnie-O or Puma, a little slimmer than the Footjoy, a little more generous than the Travis Mathew.

I'd call it a normal/average fit - it's not overly tapered/slim, but it's not baggy either. I'm no flat belly at the moment, I'm carrying a bit of a gut, and the Maelreg shirts give me room for it without looking sloppy. I wear them tucked or untucked according to the weather, and they're good either way.

I have really liked the quality/feel of VRST clothes
Dick’s/GG really do a great job with their house brands. They are a really good retailer.

Nice. Thanks for the info I'm going to give them a try. I like the fit of the Johnny -O polos I have. If these are a similar material and fit sign me up.

The one I have feels similar to adidas non-coolmotion material.

I can't say I've ever owned an adidas golf polo. I'll have to find somewhere to touch one.

IMO, Johnnie O-they just are so consistent and do things right. I’m probably 50/60% JO in the closet.

Other ones I like are Kjus and zero Restriction.

Lululemon , I’ve been a fan for 15 years of their clothing … all the qualities you’d want in apparel

And from what we’ve seen , somewhat cheaper than other countries here .

Now Min woo wears it .. there maybe more dedicated ranges

But it’s extremely good

I love the Lululemon Classic ABC Warpstream shorts for golf. Also have a couple of their ShowZero polos. Pricey but they work.

I've found some good deals on Kenneth Cole polos that are comfortable and stretchy.

I haven't owned any premium brands so I can't help ya there. I've got adidas, UA, and Callaway mostly

Callaway and Original Penguin. They are licensed I believe under Peter Millar. I prefer their shorts over any fit in the cheaper realm. Loved my Travis Mathew’s stuff I got on sale but it’s kinda pricey.

Puma Cloudspun is really good.

Under Armor. It just works for me. Nothing fu-fu fancy just well made stuff. Not a fashion statement, but a lifestyle brand of its own accord.

I really like Puma as well.

Given the lack of mentions here at THP, I'll go with Footjoy. I think they are the best quality for the money you can get right now. Their shirts fit me well as I have a long torso and stay tucked in nicely.

I also like their q zips, hoodies and outerwear.

I recently bought a Footjoy polo from a course. I like the fit, but the collar is a little too stiff for my taste so I can't call it a favorite.

Also 32 degrees is very underrated.

Their base layers, boxers, and shorts all are great for the price.

Penguin pants are great.

I second this. Found out about VRST this year.
GG had a bunch on sale after Thanksgiving and I scooped up a bunch. Polos are nice too.

Pins and Aces makes really good polos. Easily some of my favorites in the closet.
The waffle quips are the best too I have all of them but the navy blue striped usps lost mine and they were sold out by the time we got it sorted out
