Upcoming Vacation

I am taking a week off before my daughter starts kindergarten. I've only taken 2 weeks off in the last 3 years and I need a break. Looking for something with some golf, hiking, maybe river rafting. Wouldn't mind a nice downtown with a couple good restaurants. Mostly I just want to shut down and not look at a phone or computer for 10 days. Any suggestions within a half day of the Bay Area. Right now we are leaning Sun River or Mammoth. We have a 60 pound bulldog so it has limited our rental capabilities.

I'm open for flying too but thinking with the dog and whole family a drive would be cheaper and easier.

Don't know the area to recommend a spot, but I hope you enjoy yourself. Alos take more vacations. Life's too short not to stop working and enjoy yourself from time to time.
