Use Your Putter Headcover!

I would welcome the opportunity to take in a round with you my good man.

Sounds awesome.
They give you a headcover for a reason... use it.

I would like in on this round w/ @LeftyGolferWI since we have talked about playing together next year @Canadan

I prefer the worn in look. Covers be damned. :) So you're protecting the putter with a cover but what are you doing to protect the cover from abuse and wear from the elements. Do you buy a second, or more, identical cover during original purchase.

I cannot believe that some people don’t use a putter cover. That is crazy.

i tend to see it more in people riding carts but a couple push carters I know get tired of putting it off and on. Not my bag, baby. Cover as I am walking off green.

The ones I will make exception for, and I see this occasionally, some oldster roll up with a minigolf putter manufactured around 1940 that is chipped and cracked and dented and rolling in everything they look at before being unceremoniously rammed back in the bag

I agree... Heck, I always use my prized USCG putter head cover on my old 1983 Ping B60!

Always use a head cover. I’m a little crazy with putters, if there’s a visible ding, at address, it’s getting replaced. I also like a bag with a separate putter well.

I’m constantly yelling at someone at our course about it

I’m in the camp of always using a putter cover unless I am actually putting with it.

Places where I use a caddy (especially if they are double bagging), I’ll ask them when we start to just hand me the putter with the cover on and I will take it off. I’ll explain why to them and that I appreciate most of the time they will have multiple clubs in their hands and it is difficult not to let them hit the putter head. Since I use mallet putters (including a DF3), that makes it even more difficult given how big they are. It is amazing how un-natural it is for most caddies to do that so I understand when they forget. One polite reminder is usually all it takes to reinforce it.

I don't understand those who take if off at the beginning of the round and let it get banged around. Same with woods.
Even worse I have friends that do this with their drivers … painful ….

There are 2 people I've played with in the last couple weeks who don't use putter covers. One is a 94 year old man with shaky hands who has trouble taking the cover off. The other is one of my buddies who has a LAB Oz1i armlock that towers over all of the other clubs in his bag so doesn't get much bag chatter anyways

These threads crack me up

I play with some guys who have more money that sense. I also pains me to see a putter clanging around in the bag. Even worse is when non-putter cover guy slams his $500 putter in his bag because he just 3-putt.

An angel loses their wings every time a putter goes uncovered.

I'm convinced these are people who love to watch the world burn or are psychopaths.

1000% agree. But does this not apply to woods as well? It drives me insane to see people with brand new drivers banging around in the back of a cart.

I like @Slowmo’s sentiment - if it came with a headcover, it should always have a headcover when not in use.
Agree a million percent! The sounds of woods banging together is like nails on a chalkboard.

What kind of Heathen doesn't cover their putter?? :ROFLMAO:

It is probably the club I show the most care too.

I use the putter cover that came with my PXG Bat Attack putter. Say what you will about PXG, but they don't skimp on headcovers! The headcovers I have gotten with the drivers from them are outstanding as well. They all hold up well, and I really like the built-in magnets, especially on the putter cover closure as opposed to them using Velcro.

I play with people who do both.... I don't understand it....

Alway use your putter cover.

I let me stepson use my backup set - including a very good putter which always has a cover on it. I noticed after a few holes of our first round together that he sacked the head cover - could not believe it. And he is 35 yr old. Just careless and inconsiderate.
